“The dreamers are the saviours of the world…Humanity cannot forget its dreamers; it cannot let their ideals fade and die; it lives in them, it knows them as the realities which it shall one day see and know.”
The world we live in today is made beautiful by the dreams of people. Everything you see around today was once a dream; an idea conceived by someone at some time, in some place. Columbus had a dream of another world, and he discovered it. Copernicus had a dream of a multiplicity of worlds and a wider universe, and he revealed it. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates dreamed of personal computers, and they realized it. Nelson Mandela dreamed of a free Country, and he realized it. This list is endless.
Do you have a dream in your heart? Cherish it remain true to your dream and vision. “Cherish your dreams; cherish your ideals; cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind…for out of them will grow all delightful conditions…if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.” You see nature unfolds as a dream. Some of the most magnificent things in nature began as a dream; you were once a foetus; the bird was once an egg; the tree no matter how big, was once a seed. “Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” Keep dreaming! No matter how bleak your present circumstance may be, you can change it when you dream, and strive to reach it.
Dreams do come true. Yes your dream can come true, as long as it is not a mere wish. No matter who you are or where you are from, you will fall, remain, or rise with your dreams. You become as small as your dreams, or as great as your dreams – It’s time to start dreaming big.
When you have paid the price, gotten the education, and put in the work necessary to bring your dreams to reality, if I may paraphrase the words of Stanton Kirkham Davis; “The thoughtless, the ignorant, seeing only the apparent effects of things and not the things themselves, will talk of luck, of fortune, and chance – seeing you grow rich, they say, “How lucky he is!” Observing you become an intellectual, they exclaim, “How highly favoured he is.” And watching you gain wide influence in life, they remark, “How chance aids him at every turn!”
They do not see the trials and failures and struggles which you have voluntarily encountered to gain experience; have no knowledge of the sacrifices you have made, of the undaunted efforts you have put forth, of the faith you have exercised, that you may overcome the apparently insurmountable, and realize the dreams of your heart. They don’t know the darkness and the heartaches; they only see the light and joy, and call it “luck”; do not see the long and arduous journey, but only behold the pleasant goal, and call it “good fortune”; do not understand the process, but perceive the result, and call it “chance”.
Folks, dreams do come true, only you have to put in the effort to produce the results you see in your mind. Don’t give up on your dream! Live your greatest life!
