There is an End!

For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.” – Proverbs 23:18 (KJV)

Oh how I particularly like this scripture, especially the King James Version. The same way every product released and sold in the market has an expiry date, or a shelf life; a day or time when it’s no longer considered effective, or functional, God is saying to somebody today; There is going to be an end to that shame, that reproach, that challenge you’re facing . It doesn’t matter how long you’ve had that trouble, whatever has a beginning has an end. Maybe you’ve been sick for a while, you’ve done all things medically right, but that sickness won’t go, and it’s threatening your peace, your family, your finances, but God says, I am going to put an end to it. Or maybe you have a family member who has become a concern to you, you’ve done everything in your power to straighten him up, but your efforts don’t seem to be going anywhere, God says there is an end, he or she is going to turn out fine.

It doesn’t matter how many years you’ve been stuck, it doesn’t matter how many people have written you off, God says I am going to put an end to that, and change your story. Have you been expecting a break, a job, a new life, or maybe you are behind on your payments, and you are expecting something to happen? No matter what it is you are hoping, expecting, God says your expectations shall not be cut off. You shall not hope in vain. Don’t settle yet, don’t give up just yet. Believe! All things are possible to him that believes.

I have observed that so many of us are wont to confess negativity. Instead of talking to our problems we talk about them, we give them life, and help them grow in our lives. It’s time we changed that. It’s time we confessed faith consistently. The scripture says we should hold on to our confessions of faith. So today instead of talking about that challenge, look at it straight in the eye, and say “For surely there is an end – to this poverty, this sickness, this pain, this failure, this singleness, this childlessness, this heartbreaks, this joblessness, this debt! Whatever has a beginning has an end!”

Don’t give up! Keep believing! Whatever has a beginning has an end!

I found this to be very encouraging! How easy it is for us to think our problems will never end no matter what they may be. As Vincent says in this piece, whatever has a beginning has an end. Have faith that God will put an end to whatever the problems are. Have faith!

  3. Vincent!
Thanks for sharing this…..I really needed to hear this word man. I was talking to God today about an area of my life that doesn’t seem to be changing and that discouraged me. But that word you shared was right on! There is an end!
God bless you for sharing a word in season!

  4. Interesting and inspiring post, Vincent. Thank you so much for your words. I wonder, though, if maybe the end we want and the end God has in mind may not always be joyful. Right now, I’m struggling with the slowly approaching death of my grandmother, who is 97 years old and has been suffering for a long time. I know one day God will take her to his Kingdom, but right now her suffering is great. I also know the suffering of her family will be great when she’s gone. It will be an end, and maybe one that is best for us through God, but there will definitely be suffering.

    1. Hi Lawrence, I am sorry about the pains of your grandmother. I feel I can relate with you on this, having seen my Grandfather, got sick and then die…after going through so much pains. I saw my GrandPa cry alot of times something difficult for men to do. I prayed for his healing, recovery, but God still took him. We felt devastated because he was the one keeping the family together, so his sickness really got to everyone of us. But God needed him to go and rest. I have learned to always thank God in all things! Thanks for stopping by here. Blessings!
