We all desire love relationships in our lives. In fact today, a lack of love relationships has caused loneliness, depression, and anxiety in many lives. Everywhere we go, we find people seeking to find or to keep a life partner. Both in open or secretly, many of us are always on the lookout for tips, secrets, coaching sessions, books, audios or anything about love and love relationships.

The world sensing this ignorance got us to buying into some lies. We are made to believe that in order to have long lasting relationships, we need so much sex. As a result, we put in so much of our time, energy and money into spicing up our sex lives. We think that it is good sex that leads to secure and lasting relationships, when rather it is the other way round.

We are also told that for you to be happy in your relationship or marriage, you need money. While money is necessary in life, it isn’t the amount of money one has that determines whether or not one finds true love and happiness. You see if money was a good basis for love, you would expect that millionaires and those who inherited, or came upon wealth suddenly maybe through the lottery for instance, would have the best relationships and marriages. But what do we find? They seem to be the one with the most breakups and divorces. Yet there are many people out there who don’t have so much money, but they have the best of relationships one can die for.

There are some of us who believe that, in order to have a lasting relationship Continue reading 3 Lies We are Told on How to Get True Love

Don’t Become Like “The Rich Fool”

One of the greatest of challenges some of us face in life today is success. Just because we have attained some of our goals, we forget about everything else, the discipline and the sacrifices we made to get to where we are. We let down our guard, forget about the grace of God that brought us thus far, and become so complacent, thinking we will never fall.

We become like the rich man in the parable of “the Rich Fool” Jesus shared in the scriptures, who after his farm yielded an abundant harvest, said he will tear down his barns and build bigger ones to accommodate his new found riches, and then spend the rest of his life enjoying his wealth…But like we are told, he didn’t live to see what happened to all he had acquired.

A wise man once sated, “the greatest enemy of tomorrow’s success is today’s success. There are so many of us who think we have arrived, after achieving some new status, or just because we have acquired a new degree, or gotten a new promotion, we think we know it all. We can no longer be taught again, we now know more than others around us, even doubt the efficacy and power in the word of God. We forget that “a winner knows how much he still has to learn, even when he is considered an expert by others, a loser wants to be considered an expert by others before he has learned enough to know how little he knows.” Continue reading Don’t Become Like “The Rich Fool”

Focus on The Future, Not The Past

So many of us are worried about our present situations, about our present jobs, or education level. Maybe we are behind our peers or siblings in terms of achievement. We look at our lives and wished we had a richer parentage, a better education, or better opportunities in the past.

The truth is, no matter how terrible or bleak or present condition is, there is hope for you, as Oliver Wendell Holmes ones stated’ “The great thing in this world is not so much where we are but in what direction we are moving.” You may not be able to do anything about your past, but you can change your future. Your past maybe dark, but your future is colourful and bright. All you need is a dream, and a desire to pursue your dream.

You can pursue your dream no matter where you are today. The world is filled with inspiring tales of men and women, who pursued their dreams and changed their lives in spite of their heavy physical health challenges, lack of financial resources, or poor education. You see no matter what you are going through now Continue reading Focus on The Future, Not The Past

How to Have a Lasting Relationship

What makes relationships and marriages last forever and some others just for a few weeks? There are some of us who think if we get married to very wealthy and affluent people, then our marriages will be perfect. The secret of a happy marriage or relationship isn’t in the amount of money spent during the wedding, or where you had your wedding reception or honeymoon. Because I have seen marriages and relationships celebrated in the media all over the world that end up lasting just a few months. Yet there are people whose marriages have lasted several decades who didn’t have money to celebrate their weddings.

What your relationship is called, where you live, or how much money you spend or have, is not what determines how long your relationship lasts. Agreed, money is important in our lives, but it isn’t the most important thing. Yet too many of us have allowed the issue of money to get in the way of our enjoying our relationships. If you think you are beaten, you are

If you think you dare not, you don’t

If you like to win, but you think you can’t,

It is almost certain you won’t

If you think you’ll lose, you are lost

For out of the world we find,

Success begins with a fellow’s will –

It’s all in the state of mind

If you think you are outclassed, you are

You’ve got to think high to rise,

You’ve got to be sure of yourself before Continue reading

Moving by Faith

By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. – Hebrews 11:8

As I meditate on these words, I begin to wonder what my life would look like today, had Abraham not walked in faith and left is folks, and all he knew to obey God? Today we all as Christians are have become heirs of the promise that Abraham obtained by faith. Yet I knew I wasn’t seeing this scripture because God wanted to teach me about Abraham, it is about me and the many others who have been called to do one thing or the other.

I know about faith, I talk of it, and I know many of us do too, but how many of us actually act on it the way Abraham did? Too many of us want to see our way through a new endeavour before we will even start. Imagine if we could see our way from beginning to end. How would we ever develop as Christians?

The world expects us to calculate our risks, to test the waters before putting both feet into it, but that isn’t the way the word works. God doesn’t say we should be reasonable, He says live by faith! This year, I am working on a book, and planning my marriage, and all people ask me is “are you crazy?” “Where are you going to get the funds from?” But in all these, I know that it is my step of faith that will turn the key in the lock of God’s storehouse for me. You are Being Prepared for Something Great

There are times I wonder why I have to go through so much pressure and face so many challenges even as a child of God. Maybe you have been in this position too, where all you see when you look around you are the bills to pay, the needs to meet, and the many commitments you have to keep. Yet there are others around you who seem to have everything going for them, and their lives appear to be so easy.

This past week, was one of those weeks I had to tell God, “I am tired of these difficulties!” “Why can’t I just get to that point where I stop worrying about money?” “Why does it always have to be this difficult for me?” It didn’t take long for God to answer me, as I was led to this passage of scripture; “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” – Romans 8:18. With these words He told me I am being prepared for something great!

You too are being prepared for something great! And when we long for life without difficulties Continue reading You are Being Prepared for Something Great

Learn to Wait

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. – Isaiah 43: 31

One of the most difficult things to do in life is to stand still, and just wait. In a world where almost everything is done by the clock, no one wants to wait. Nobody has the time and patience to just sit by and wait, we all just want to keep moving. In fact, you may be considered a failure if you are standing still, watching, and waiting on the God’s instructions and leading.

It’s easier to move than to wait. It takes a lot more courage and patience to stand still and wait on the Lord, and submit to His will, because sometimes waiting on God means giving up opportunities for work, breaking up on your relationships with others, and appearing to be foolish in the eyes of the busy others.

When we learn to wait on God’s leading and direction for all we do, we will discover the strength we so desire. The secret of strength, and speed, and success in life, is to be faithful in the leading of the Lord. Being busy without waiting to hear from God is a complete waste of time, energy and resources. Let us learn to wait for God’s leading always!
