Every successful individual I have known, both living and dead, always point out “the right information” and “association” as among factors that are responsible for their success.  Friends the person you will become in future will be determined by the amount of information you have (via books, audio, and video) and the people you associate with. Unfortunately many of us don’t pay attention to the company we keep. Some of you in the name of being social, simple, and loving, roll with virtually any kind of person. Little wonder your lives are going in directions you can’t even understand.

Everything God created, He created after their kind, that’s why you find that Sheep roll together; Goats move with Goats; Lions walk among Lions; Wolfs keep their company among Wolfs. Why then are you, who is aspiring for greatness be moving with people heading for mediocrity? Friends of course the Bible says we should love all men and be at peace with all men, it also points out clearly the power of association:

“A righteous man is cautious about friendship…” – Proverbs 12:26 – Friends if you have aspirations, dreams and goals of becoming someone great in life, you need to be cautious about the kind of people you keep as friends.

“A man of many Companions may come to ruin…” – Proverbs 18: 24 – For those of you who feel that the having many friends means you are popular and successful, you need to be careful, as they may turn out to be a huge distraction to you.

“He who walks with the wise shall be wise, but a companion of fools may harm.” – Proverbs 13:20 – this passage clearly points out the importance of associating with people that are better than you in the areas where you are weak. You cannot move with successful people and not be successful. Take a look at your circle of friends, how successful are they, or do they hope to become? Do they have dreams and goals? Do they encourage you to pursue your goals? If your answer is no, then it’s time to change company.

“Do not be bound together with unbeliever; for what partnership has righteousness and lawlessness.” – 1 Corinthians 6:14 – Many of you are surrounded with people who don’t cheer your successes and achievements; people who doubt your dreams, and are always pointing at your flaws and past failures. No matter how much you like these people, you really have no business hanging out with them if you want to achieve your goals.

Friends harness the power of right associations to lift yourself from the level you are to the next level. Live your greatest life!
