Don’t be discouraged in your love and giving if you are not being recognized and honoured by men for your deeds because while men may not appreciate you, God who keeps records will reward you soon. It really isn’t by donating huge sums of money in front of cameras, or holding a press conference to announce your contribution that matters, compared to giving out of love for God and man.

If you have been showing love to people, helping others in need, offering kind words of inspiration and encouragement to others and yet you don’t receive recognition for your gestures, and maybe as a result you are being discouraged, I hope the following story inspires you to do more;

“A poor man who dreamed one night that he went to Paradise, and who was so surprised to find himself there that he began to apologize profusely for his intrusion. He said he knew he was out of place, that he had no business there, because he had never during his life earned anything so glorious, and that, in fact, it was a presumption on his part even to look within the gates of Paradise.

He pleaded his inability to do anything to win him such a great favour, protesting that he was a very poor man, just an ordinary, everyday workman, who had no standing in society on the earth. He had tried to live honestly, he said, to do his work faithfully, to bring up his children as they should be brought up, and to be kind to his neighbours, but as to any right to enter Paradise, he could not understand how he had presumed to do such a thing. Expect The Best

Photo Credit: reuters.com Photo Credit: reuters.com So many times we get from life and from others, exactly what we expect. You see, the way we see people, objects or situations affects the way we treat them, and the way we treat them affects the way they behave. So our spouses, partners, children, relatives, co-workers, employees, bosses, classmates etc treat us the way they do because we expect them to be so. – the “Pygmalion effect.”

According to Greek mythology; Pygmalion was a Cypriot sculptor who carved a woman out of ivory, and fell in love with his creation because it was fair and beautiful. One day after repeated sacrifices, prayers, and wishes that his creation could become a living being, the god Aphrodite gave life to the stature, granting his wish…This brought about the origin of Pygmalion effect. The Pygmalion effect rests on the concept that “what we see reflected on many objects…

What Vision do You Hold of Yourself?

One of my favourite scriptures says, God grants the desires of our hearts. But unfortunately, I have come to realize that most of us don’t have our desires clearly pictured in our minds. And when we did, we don’t hold it long enough in our minds.

If you don’t know what you want in life, people are going to hand you what they think is best for you, and most times what they will give you will be far smaller, far more inferior to what you truly deserve. I remember the few times I went shopping without having a clear picture of what I wanted to buy. And each time, the shop attendants asked me what I wanted, I replied “I don’t know exactly” and they will go on to offer to help.

By helping, they will show me products they thought were good for me. Sometimes they end up selling to me a product they’ve carried for a long time, for which they’ve been having a hard time selling. – But that’s life when you don’t know what you want.

Folks the bible says without vision the people perish. – Without having a clear mental picture of what you desire or want from life, you will be overcome by the high level of negativity around. You see every day we are bombarded by doubts, scorn, and ridicule from people who don’t believe in us. It takes looking at your vision of your future to face this negativity.

For some of us, the question isn’t about whether we have a vision or a mental picture of our lives, but rather what type of picture of you are you holding? When you look at your life, what do you see? The answer could be found by taking a look at your results. I have discovered that the majority of us hold a poor mental image of ourselves. It is Really Up To You!

There is only one person whose respect and credit is indispensable to your success and that person is yourself. What any other man may think of you or do for you will never make or break you. That job is highly personal. Doubters are always in the majority and he along the race course of life to whet the ambitions of the stout hearted.

If you are a Christian, you’ve probably read or heard about the story of the man by the pool of Bethesda whom cried healed after being paralysed for over 38 years. Now before Christ got to heal him, He asked the man if he wanted to be made whole.

This man in answering started out talking about his condition, blaming it on his parents, Siblings, Uncles, Aunties, Friends and other associates, who have abandoned him, who will not help him get into the pool. The point I want us to see is, for 38 years that man remained where he was, not because there wasn’t any solution, but because he felt he needed someone to get him into the pool. He sat there whining and complaining to anyone who cared to listen about how terrible his family is, how they haven’t been supportive of him and all.

Now unfortunately many of you are acting like that man. You think your family hate you; you think your dad or uncle has to do something for you. You are where you are because you are waiting for daddy, mummy, uncle or that brother to assist you. The truth is brother/sister you will continue to be a failure if you don’t change your thinking.
