Dare to Be Great

Vincent Egoro

“Dare to Be

When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.

When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.

When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.

When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.

When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.

When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.

When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.

When times are tough, dare to be tougher.

When love hurts you, dare to love again.

When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.

When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.

Finish Off Well

Vincent Egoro

As we draw the curtain over 2013,and “press towards the mark” (2014), ponder on these words of wisdom from Balthasar Gracia, and strive to end this year well and alive;

You ought therefore to think of the finish, and attach more importance to a graceful exit than to applause on entrance. ’Tis the common lot of the unlucky to have a very fortunate outset and a very tragic end. The important point is not the vulgar applause on entrance–that comes to nearly all–but the general feeling at exit.

Two things bring life speedily to an end: folly and immorality. Some lose their life because they have not the intelligence to keep it, others because they have not the will. Just as virtue is its own reward, so is vice its own punishment. He who lives a fast life runs through life in a double sense. A virtuous life never dies…

Stay On Your Goals

Let me share this story with you: “A Canadian bird decided that it was too much trouble to fly south for the winter. He said to himself, “I can brave a winter. A lot of other animals do it. It just can’t be that hard.” So as all the other birds flocked away toward sunny South America, he stayed behind and waited for winter.

By the end of November, he was having serious second thoughts. He had never been so cold, and he couldn’t find any food. Finally he broke down and realized that if he didn’t get out of there soon, he wasn’t going to make it. So he started flying south all by himself.

After a while it began to rain. And before he knew it, the water was turning to ice on his wings. Struggling, he recognized that he couldn’t fly any longer. He knew…

You Become What You Envision Yourself to Be

You become what you envision yourself to be. This statement is so true yet most people don’t realize it because they go about seeing themselves as poor, good for nothing, unlucky and so forth and that is why nothing good ever happens in their lives.

What about you, how do you see yourself despite what is going on around you? Do you let the attitude of others; your environment; your circumstances affect you to the point where you see yourself so small? Friends, I hear people say this of themselves when things go downwards; “Poor little old me” unfortunately for these folks that is the direction their lives will go as they will end up becoming poor, little and old.

Next time you stand in front of the mirror try and look beyond your scars, your present situation and envision yourself in the future that God created you to be. Look God told Abraham lift up your eyes and look, because as far as you can see, that will I give you as an inheritance. Stop letting where you are define where you will be. Stop letting where you have been determine where you are going. Continue reading You Become What You Envision Yourself to Be
