Enough of Just Hoping

Life is a challenge, a struggle, a push, to be the best you can be, to make the most of your life. But in that struggle, push, or challenge is the value of life. Those who don’t push, don’t succeed. Those who sit by and whine and complain always remain that way.

A lot of us are hoping and wishing for a good life. We believe God is going to take care of our future for us, that everything is going to turn out just fine in the end. Sure I believe in miracles and I know that God has good plans for us. But those plans won’t come to pass without us playing our own roles.

You can’t sit around and expect things to work out without you doing anything. Stop hoping without taking action. Stop wishing without doing. Let me tell you the truth, your life isn’t going to change, if anything it is going to change for worse if you don’t get up and start acting on it. Continue reading Enough of Just Hoping

Take Immediate Action

“The universe is wider than our views of it.” – Henry David Thoreau

Are you fond of procrastinating and shifting your dreams and responsibilities to some later day? Think about this message from the scriptures; “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog–it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” There is a cemetery in the district where I live, and each weekend someone is buried. And every time I notice this many thoughts and questions run through my mind; did the individual who is buried achieve his/her dreams? Did they accomplish what they set out to do? Were they happy when they died? Etc.

Folks this life is momentary. If you have dreams and goals now is the time to begin them. Today is best time to begin all those worthy plans and dreams you’ve been contemplating on. You’ve probably heard the saying that delay is dangerous and procrastination weakens purpose, why don’t you get up now and seize the opportunity while it is still within your reach? You may wake up tomorrow and realize that everything is gone. I have missed some opportunities in my life and I can tell you it was really a painful experience for me when I realized what I had lost by failing to take action.

Bill Gates one of the richest people in the world was asked during an interview on “Larry King Live” what his secret of success was, and if luck had any role to play in it. And replied thus, (in Paraphrasing) Larry maybe luck had a role to play in it, maybe I was at the right place at the right time, but you know I wasn’t the only one there. Others were there at the time too but the difference was I had a bigger sense of vision. And he went on to say, “Larry” I wasn’t the only one with a bigger vision but what made the real difference was that I took immediate and massive action. Continue reading Take Immediate Action

You are responsible for the results you are achieving both now and in the future. Yet many of us always assume that we need the influences of others before we can do better or accomplish more in our lives. Folks realize that God has deposited all the power, energy, ability and resources for building a highly successful life in you, and that all you need do is to look inwards and start trusting yourself to take action on your life.

Every one of us has a gift which is distinctively ours. And we all have a responsibility to discover, develop and use our individual gifts. The fact that your gift isn’t as loud as that of others doesn’t make it less valuable and impactful. You also do not need to have many talents and the ability to do many different things to be successful but rather your success is determined by your ability to make practical use of your one great talent given to you by God. Is it Just My Society?

There’s one common thing about people who are not doing well, or struggling financially, emotionally and generally failing in life – they don’t accept responsibility for their actions when things go wrong. I know this because I had been doing this – always ready to point my fingers at someone for any misadventure or any failure I encounter on my part. And I have noticed that it wasn’t just me, it is as become a norm in our society. You find people citizens blaming the government, and the government is always shifting their blames on the West and the developed nations for conspiring against them.

When things go wrong with us, when we miss our aims in life, most of the time you find people looking for something or someone to blame. But as a friend pointed out to me recently, blaming others for our problems and defeats in life started way back in the Garden of Eden, when God asked Adam what he had done, he said it was Eve’s fault. Then when God questioned Eve, she blamed it on the Snake.

Today when children fail examination in school, they blame it on the teachers and or the examiners. When people fail interviews or get passed on for promotion in their jobs, they blame it on their bosses. – You hear them say “my boss doesn’t like me”, or  “my boss is tribalistic or partial” and so on. When peoples business are not doing well, and the prosperity they hoped to get isn’t coming, they blame it on other people – their aged parents, Uncles, Aunties, or other family who are bewitching them. When someone who clearly isn’t eating healthy foods, or living a healthy lifestyle falls sick, the blame goes to the Witches and Wizards from their communities and families. Are You driving or Being Driven?

I have always had a dread of becoming a passenger in life. -Margareth II, Queen of Denmark

These words of this great woman really jolted me, as I look around and see so many of us who haven’t achieved much in life, who are not following their dreams, yet we are so comfortable becoming passengers in life’s buses going nowhere.

Many of us have become what Zig Ziglar called wondering generalities. We are just wondering about from one job the other, from one marriage to another, from one relationship to another, from one course of study to another, without knowing what we want to do with our lives.

Some of you are in marriages and relationships because you were told that’s the right choice to make, for the sake of the family, or to look responsible in the society and so on. Yet you are miserable in that relationship but you have to put up the appearance and stay in it to please the society. Some of you are in jobs that make you miserable but you staying there because you because of the temporal security it offers, or because you are afraid of what people will think, you are like the drug junkie who knows the pills are killing him but won’t let go of the habit. Today is my birthday. And as I look back at my life, the years I have spent so far, all I can say is that, if not for God’s grace and hand upon me, I would have long been gone. God’s been good to me, and I really lack the words to express my gratitude to Him.

Two years ago, God made me discover the reasons why I had to go through the challenges I went through in life; why I had to suffer heartbreaks and disappointments; why I had to fail in my ventures; why I had to experience so many delays in my life. Then he gave me a message to inspire people to live their greatest life…which is what I try to do with my blog.

I am grateful to you my followers….to all of you who have been a part of this blog since 2013 when I set out on my journey. God bless you all. Today I have a dream, a dream to take my message of hope and inspiration to my community and country via the radio by starting an inspirational talk show. Continue reading Let’s Take This Walk

It is Really Up To You!

There is only one person whose respect and credit is indispensable to your success and that person is yourself. What any other man may think of you or do for you will never make or break you. That job is highly personal. Doubters are always in the majority and he along the race course of life to whet the ambitions of the stout hearted.

If you are a Christian, you’ve probably read or heard about the story of the man by the pool of Bethesda whom cried healed after being paralysed for over 38 years. Now before Christ got to heal him, He asked the man if he wanted to be made whole.

This man in answering started out talking about his condition, blaming it on his parents, Siblings, Uncles, Aunties, Friends and other associates, who have abandoned him, who will not help him get into the pool. The point I want us to see is, for 38 years that man remained where he was, not because there wasn’t any solution, but because he felt he needed someone to get him into the pool. He sat there whining and complaining to anyone who cared to listen about how terrible his family is, how they haven’t been supportive of him and all.

Now unfortunately many of you are acting like that man. You think your family hate you; you think your dad or uncle has to do something for you. You are where you are because you are waiting for daddy, mummy, uncle or that brother to assist you. The truth is brother/sister you will continue to be a failure if you don’t change your thinking.
