Negative Opinion is Poison

The journey towards success, or a better life is laced with many obstacles and challenges, but the one that stops many of us, is that conviction that our dreams and goals are beyond our reach. Many of us have been sold this lie. We have allowed the many suppressive and negative forces to direct our thoughts and aims toward mediocrity.

In the beginning of our lives it wasn’t always so. God created us with a charge to have dominion over all things. The scripture says we are called to be the head and not the tail. As children we all had great dreams and goals. Visit any primary school today, or talk to any young boy or girl, you will be surprised that they have plans to conquer the world, to attain important positions in life, to become famous and wealthy, to be Olympic champions and so on.

But when they become teens and young adults, the negative suppressive forces that stopped their parents begin to work on them, sometimes it is their own parents and older relatives who failed to act on their own lives that set out to lead these young lads into mediocrity.

They begin to tell them, it is foolish to be a dreamer, that their ideas are impractical, unachievable, stupid, naïve, foolish, doesn’t suit the times and the economy, or that they would need a terrible amount of money to go anywhere in life, or that “luck determines who gets ahead or you’ve got to have important friends,” or you’re “too old or too young.” Continue reading Negative Opinion is Poison

Right Association, Key Success Secret

A great poet, Alfred Lord Tennyson, wrote a poem called Ulysses. In which he stated, “I am part of who I met.” I have found this to be the absolute truth to all of us; we have been influenced by our schools, every sermon or teaching in our religious institutions, every conversation we heard, or the books we read, every person who has touched our lives has left an impression on our characters, and we become just like the people we associate with most of the time.

Our environments, our associations, have a great impact in our lives, whether we know this or not. Many of us rise or fall according to the people around us, or the places we live. If you look at the lives of people who have failed to move up in life, people who are living mediocre lives, you will discover that they are where they are because they don’t live or hang around environments that stimulate them, encourage them to try harder. Many people lack ambition because; no one ever showed them the heights their destinies could reach.

Many of us have families that discourage us from pursuing our goals; we belong to organizations that don’t applaud achievements and success. We have been told aiming high is a vain thing to seek. Folks the environments you find yourself play a great role in how your lives are shaped. Some of the people we find in prisons, in gangs, in rehabilitation centres are examples of the bad influence an environment or an association can have in us.

Do you want to live your greatest life, and fulfil your destiny? Do whatever it takes, , make any sacrifice necessary to always be in an ambition-arousing atmosphere, an environment that will stimulate you to self-development. Hang around people who understand you, who believe in you, who will help you to discover yourself and encourage you to make the most of yourself. Do You Have a Dream?

#

“The dreamers are the saviours of the world…Humanity cannot forget its dreamers; it cannot let their ideals fade and die; it lives in them, it knows them as the realities which it shall one day see and know.

The world we live in today is made beautiful by the dreams of people. Everything you see around today was once a dream; an idea conceived by someone at some time, in some place. Columbus had a dream of another world, and he discovered it. Copernicus had a dream of a multiplicity of worlds and a wider universe, and he revealed it. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates dreamed of personal computers, and they realized it. Nelson Mandela dreamed of a free Country, and he realized it. This list is endless.

Do you have a dream in your heart? Cherish it remain true to your dream and vision. “Cherish your dreams; cherish your ideals; cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind…for out of them will grow all delightful conditions…if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.” You see nature unfolds as a dream. Some of the most magnificent things in nature began as a dream; you were once a foetus; the bird was once an egg; the tree no matter how big, was once a seed. “Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” Keep dreaming! No matter how bleak your present circumstance may be, you can change it when you dream, and strive to reach it.

Dreams do come true. Yes your dream can come true, as long as it is not a mere wish. No matter who you are or where you are from, you will fall, remain, or rise with your dreams. You become as small as your dreams, or as great as your dreams – It’s time to start dreaming big. Continue reading Do You Have a Dream?
