This is Why You Seem Stuck

Why is it so easy for most people to believe in the abilities of others but themselves? I have seen people who don’t seem to have any doubts in their minds about other people being able to accomplish and deliver excellently what they choose to do or are assigned, but they themselves are always shaky and shy away from stepping up to new responsibilities. They lack self-faith.

Most people pray to God for promotion, breakthrough, and increase in income, yet they shrink from anything that will give them more discipline, better training and more experience. They let the opportunities they seek go by, saying the new task or position is beyond them, it is hard, or distasteful.

In almost every office, in every sphere of life you find these kind of people with so much talents and potentials, yet they decline every position of responsibility they are offered because they are shy. Some in this group will tell you they have to be informed ahead so that they can be “well prepared” and no matter how much advance notice you give them, they still don’t step up when duty calls. Don’t Let Life Break You

A friend shared a story about the oak tree and the wind with me recently, and it has so many life lessons we all can learn from so I have decided to share with you also; A mighty wind blew night and day. It stole the oak tree’s leaves away. Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark, until the oak was tired and stark. But still the oak tree held its ground, while other trees fell all around. The weary wind gave up and spoke, “How can you still be standing, Mister Oak?” The oak tree said, “I know that you can break each branch of mine in two, carry every leaf away, shake my limbs, and make me sway. But I have roots stretched in the earth, growing stronger and stronger since my birth. You’ll never touch them, for you see, they are the very deepest part of me. Until today, I was not sure, of just how much I could endure. But now I’ve found, with thanks to you, I’m so much stronger than I ever knew!” Continue reading Don’t Let Life Break You

Stand Up For What is Right

Several years ago three young men who were among the ruling class of the most powerful nation on earth at the time, stood up against the decision of the most powerful ruler on earth even when the consequences were dire; their crime was considered treason and as the constitution at the time stated, they were to be put to death without trial yet they were unfazed and held their grounds even in the face of death.

In the book of Daniel we are told about the trio of Shedrach Meshach and Abednego who told the king, to hell with his laws and the position they occupied if it meant they had to compromise, concede or sell their faith and their belief in God. They would rather face death….a gruesome one at that than bow to a graven image. They believed their God would save them but if for any reason he didn’t they still wouldn’t bow.

How many of us can stand by our resolves and true conviction? In today’s world many of us Christians are entering into agreements, contracts against our moral code because we are guaranteed dollars and power. We join the rest of the world in accepting behaviours that clearly contradict our calling and purpose. We join associations where our faith is outlawed and suppressed in the name of gaining good social standing. Continue reading Stand Up For What is Right

Anything is Possible to The Believer

Photo credit: shipulski.com“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” – Mark 9:23

I know a lot of people that had one dream or the other – in fact they still have them, but they do nothing about their dreams and goals. Most of them are too scared of public opinion to dare act on them. Friends, great ideas are always laughed at, rejected, and opposed in the beginning. Most of the originators of the ideas were considered foolish, and some were even referred to mental health institutions for rehabilitation.

Many of the things that you use today; even the things you are being taught about in schools today, were at one time the radical ideas of individuals who had the courage to believe what their own hearts and minds told them was true, rather than accept the common beliefs of their day. Who would have thought that coloured water will be a multi-billion dollar industry today – pioneered by Coca Cola? Imagine 25 years ago, that water freely given by God, will be packaged in bottles and transformed into a billion dollar industry? Continue reading Anything is Possible to The Believer

1 Thing You Mustn’t Do: Give In

The story of Joseph in the Bible is one that many of us can relate with, in our lives. Joseph was mocked, scoffed, and hated by his folks because of his dreams and goals, and his determination to make them a reality.

His folks were uncomfortable around him because they couldn’t understand why he won’t be normal, and be content with the family trade of rearing cattle and sheep. Since they couldn’t see themselves higher than where they stood, they were angry because Joseph had a bigger size of vision.

There are some of us who are like Joseph. We have families who don’t believe in our dreams; our wives ridicule us; our children make faces at us when we talk about our dreams and goals; or parents laugh at us; our friends put us down for going after such dreams and goals.

But like Joseph, you need not be deterred by the harsh words and opposition of those around you. You need instead to persist and go ahead with your goals and dreams. I have to come to realize that when people don’t understand you, they oppose you. And when their opposing views aren’t yielding their desired results, they resort to hate.

Folks if people are throwing mud at you because of what you believe in; because of your strong faith in your dreams and goals, never mind them. Just keep doing what you are doing, because if you do the right things consistently and long enough, the results will show. – Remember success is the sweetest revenge. 1 Key Trait You Need to Have For Success

There is something top performers, super achievers have that sets them apart from the crowd. And if you want to live your greatest life this year, and have your dreams come true; whatever those dreams are, then you need to develop that quality – which is the indestructible personality.

A person with the indestructible personality cannot be stopped, he will cont be crushed, and he is never denied. He has an unshakeable believe in his destiny, such that when bad things happen, when adversity strike, like it strikes in every life, he is not moved, but rather moves with unrelenting courage.

Do you have a dream? Then you need to have this trait in you. I was told of John Grisham, famous American Novelist, who at the time was a Baptist Sunday school teacher in Virginia, Mississippi. That when he wrote his first novel “A Time to Kill”, he sent it out to a publisher, and waited for the good news, only to be told by the publisher that it was unpublishable. His manuscript was rejected by 25 different publishers. It was the 26th publisher that agreed to publish it and today, he is a worldwide phenomenon.

Dr. Seuss, famous Children book Author’s fist work was rejected by 26 publishers, and it took the 27th one to publish his work. J.K. Rowling, Multi billionaire author, had her famous book “Harry Potter” rejected by 7 publishers, only for the 8th one, a relatively unknown publishing firm to give her a chance and she was told the book will not sell. This list goes on and on. Britney Spears was told she wasn’t going to make it her as a musician, she never allowed those rejection to stop her dream.

Folk if you want to achieve success this year, you have to become unstoppable. Don’t stop because you were turned down. Try some place else. Like those top achievers, if you want to make a difference  in life, you need to be indestructible. You need to let rejection roll off you. Continue reading 1 Key Trait You Need to Have For Success

What are You Believing?

You become what you believe. –Oprah Winfrey

This statement is true yet so many of us pay little attention to our thoughts and what we believe in our minds. Little wonder so many unpleasant things are happening in and around us.

Folks, it’s time we took control of our lives. “You become what you believe.” Like it or not, it is true. If you believe you would never amount to anything great, you won’t. if you believe your skin colour has placed a ceiling on your career achievement, you will never reach the top of your career, if you believe you can’t be rich, you will remain poor, if you believe you are never qualified for the great things of life, guess what you will always be left out of the big opportunities.

On the other hand if you believe, you can do all things through the Spirit that works in you, you will definitely break records and do impossible things. If you believe that, in spite your poor family background, you are going to be successful in life, guess what you will be successful. Continue reading What are You Believing?
