Stop Looking For Faults, Start Looking For Good

One of the characteristics of people who are not doing very well with their lives is, they are top complainers and whiners. They never can find anything good about their lives and the environment they find themselves. Folks what you focus on, expands and successful people are using this to their advantage.

Haven’t you notice that successful people never talk about how bad the economy is, how high things in the market have gone up, or how many bad breaks they are having? Instead they focus on what’s good, what’s working, or what’s beautiful about them…they always try to find the good in every situation they find themselves in.

Do you want to end this year on high note? Develop the habit of finding the good in every situation. Stop talking about the negative things around you. Stop looking for the things that ain’t working in your life. If you are a Christian, you should be familiar with a powerful scripture that says, Ask and it shall be given to you, knock and the door shall be open to you, seek and you shall find. So here is a question for you, what are you seeking in your life? Continue reading Stop Looking For Faults, Start Looking For Good

It’s in You!

Your present and your future welfare depend mainly on yourself. Unfortunately many of us are looking outside of us for help. We assume that the influence of others on our behalf will enable us do better or accomplish more. While it is true that we need the cooperation of others in other to become successful, you can’t and shouldn’t surrender your power to others. You can’t sit around and expect others to do things for you that you should be doing for yourself.

Realize that you have within you all the powers, energies, ability, resources, for building a highly successful life. Remember the story told of a man who gave out talents to his servants as he was embarking on a journey, with a charge that they each invest their talents and present an account to him when he returns. According to the story, he gave one servant five talents, another he gave two talents while the last got one talent. On returning from his trip after several weeks of being away, the master called his servants to render accounts of their talents.

The servant who got five talents told the master how he had invested his talents and was able to double his talents from five to ten. The servant who got two told the master that he too doubled his from two to four. When it was the turn of the servant that got one talent, he dug up his one talent where he had hidden it and presented it back to his master. He was angry that he was given just one single talent, and this really enraged the master who reprimanded the servant. Continue reading It’s in You!

The Bible instructs us as Christians that we should hold on to our confessions of faith but too often when we are faced with challenges most of us forget about our faith and “speak reality” little wonder the challenges keep increasing. In order to help us keep professing our faith and confessing positive things into our lives, here are 8 powerful affirmations and confessions to help us through challenges:

  1. “Never Again will I confess “I can’t,” “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4: 13 NAS).
  1. Never Again will I confess lack, for “My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NAS).
  1. Never Again will I confess fear, for “God hath not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7 NAS).
  1. Never Again will I confess doubt and lack of faith, for “…God has allotted to each a measure of faith” (Romans 12:3 NAS).

You Can Serve God in Small Way Too

Many people these days are looking for big opportunities to serve. Everyone wants to appear in a big stage; speakers and preachers want to speak before crowds of thousands. Only very few people are willing to express their gifts or serve God in a small capacity. It’s especially painful when “Men of God” do this, when they feel too big and important to preach or teach in a small church or event, they are always looking for the packed halls and stadia.

Thank God our God isn’t a respecter of persons, so He doesn’t rate you by the number of social media followers you have, or by the size of the crowds you’ve stood before. It is only man thst is obsessed with “scale” “rating” “size” “status” “followers”. Our God is too great a God to need your great deeds. As long as we are using our gifts/talents to work for Him where we find ourselves it really doesn’t make any difference whether we do our work in a remote village, attending to people who wouldn’t be able to repay our sacrifices or we are serving thousands of people daily.

Folks the little things you do that a lot of people leave undone, the small services you render that are despised by the big crowd loving guys are great enough to glorify God as long as you are doing them for God.

If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,

Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,

And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;

If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,

And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, Continue reading A Fathers Advice to His Child

Stand Up For What is Right

Several years ago three young men who were among the ruling class of the most powerful nation on earth at the time, stood up against the decision of the most powerful ruler on earth even when the consequences were dire; their crime was considered treason and as the constitution at the time stated, they were to be put to death without trial yet they were unfazed and held their grounds even in the face of death.

In the book of Daniel we are told about the trio of Shedrach Meshach and Abednego who told the king, to hell with his laws and the position they occupied if it meant they had to compromise, concede or sell their faith and their belief in God. They would rather face death….a gruesome one at that than bow to a graven image. They believed their God would save them but if for any reason he didn’t they still wouldn’t bow.

How many of us can stand by our resolves and true conviction? In today’s world many of us Christians are entering into agreements, contracts against our moral code because we are guaranteed dollars and power. We join the rest of the world in accepting behaviours that clearly contradict our calling and purpose. We join associations where our faith is outlawed and suppressed in the name of gaining good social standing. Continue reading Stand Up For What is Right

Let’s Rejoice Today!

One of the greatest kings in history shared his secret of having a successful day when he wrote, “This is the day that the LORD has made; let’s rejoice and be glad in it. He deliberately finds reasons to be happy no matter what happens during the day.”

Friends we need to recognize that each day is a gift from God, and while the day maybe rough, full of challenges, disappointments, setbacks and pains, we must learn to never allow the pains, challenges and disappointments we encounter to poison our attitude towards life.

No one ever wins or succeed when they are gloomy, filled with sadness, and self-pity. The look on your face determines the people that come to your life. People run away from angry and sad looking people. No matter what you are facing, learn to wear a face of happiness, sunshine, and joy, you will be surprised at how many people you will attract to your life, and eventually change your situation, because in this life no one succeeds on their own. You need people to succeed. Continue reading Let’s Rejoice Today!
