“The universe is wider than our views of it.” – Henry David Thoreau

Are you fond of procrastinating and shifting your dreams and responsibilities to some later day? Think about this message from the scriptures; “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog–it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” There is a cemetery in the district where I live, and each weekend someone is buried. And every time I notice this many thoughts and questions run through my mind; did the individual who is buried achieve his/her dreams? Did they accomplish what they set out to do? Were they happy when they died? Etc.

Folks this life is momentary. If you have dreams and goals now is the time to begin them. Today is best time to begin all those worthy plans and dreams you’ve been contemplating on. And he went on to say, “Larry” I wasn’t the only one with a bigger vision but what made the real difference was that I took immediate and massive action. Continue reading Take Immediate Action

What Will Be Said About You?

Steve Jobs once said; “Remembering I will be dead soon is the best tool I have encountered to help me make the big choices in my life. Because almost everything – all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment, or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”

Folks death is inevitable. One day, when it’s all said and done, we will die. But have you ever thought about what will be said about you on your funeral? What does it all come down to?

We sweat and labour to find our place here on earth, to fulfil our dreams. Sometimes we take our selves so seriously, overreacting to the insignificant events of each passing day. Then finally, even for the kindest, wisest, and richest among us, upon our death all these experiences fade into history and our lives are summarized in a few minutes speech and a moment of silence.
