4 Practical Strategies to Succeed Despite The Circumstances

Times are hard. Almost every country globally is experiencing one form of economic challenge or the other. If you are going through some tough moments, yet you really want to achieve success, here are 4 practical strategies you can use to achieve success in your business/work:

1. Have something to give to the world that is worth giving, that the world wants:

Your success depends not just on your efforts and hard work, but on how people appreciate those efforts. Because no matter how good your work/products/service may be, if it isn’t appreciated your results will be limited. You will be wasting so much time and energy only to benefit no one, not even yourself.

In order to be appreciated, your goal must be to not give the kind of service/products/work you think the world should want, but to give that which you are convinced they want. Remember by seeking to please others with your services, you in turn please yourself. Make what you give so valuable that people will want to buy/pay for your services/products without much effort and persuasion from you.

2. Be determined to serve the world better in your niche than it was ever served before:
Whatever it is you do, know that it can always be done better, and know that that better can be done by you.

The fact that others have failed, or others are not succeeding shouldn’t influence your mind or your conduct negatively. We are not held bound by the shortcomings or failure of others. Continue reading 4 Practical Strategies to Succeed Despite The Circumstances

When Hard Work isn’t Enough

Every day, we hear or read from some of the world’s leading thinkers, teachers, philosophers, spiritualists, Psychologists, Coaches, and influencers tell us about our potentials, about the greatness in us; about the gifts of God deposited in our minds, with only a fraction of it being used. Many of us believe and know these truths.

Yet we are letting discouragement, worry and fear grip us and ruin our lives and relationships when we could be happy. We let ourselves get old when we could stay young and attractive. We are doing all kinds of things to our bodies to make us ill when could be strong and healthy.

We are timid and self-conscious when we could be radiant and brimming with self-confidence. We remain failures financially and otherwise when we could be hugely successful. Continue reading When Hard Work isn’t Enough

Keep That Resolution

In his book, “The 100 Greatest Moments in Olympic History”, Bud Greenspan shared the following true story; On an October evening in 1968, a group of die-hard spectators remained in the Mexico City’s Olympic Stadium to see the last finishers of the Olympic Marathon.

More than an hour before, Mamo Wolde of Ethiopia had won the race to the exuberant cheers of onlookers. But as the crowd watched and waited for the last participants, it was getting cool and dark. It looked as if the last runners were finished, so the remaining spectators were breaking up and leaving when they heard the sounds of sirens and police whistles coming from the marathon gate into the stadium.

And as everyone watched, one last runner made his way into the track for the last lap of the forty kilometre race. It was John Stephen Akhwari of Tanzania. As he ran the 400-metre circuit, people could see that his leg was bandaged and bleeding. He had fallen and injured it during the race, but it hadn’t let it stop him. The people in the stadium rose and applauded until he reached the finish line.

As he hobbled away, he was asked why he had not quit, injured as he was and having no chance of winning a medal. He answered, “My country did not send me to Mexico City to start the race. They sent me to finish the race.” Continue reading Keep That Resolution

1 Key Trait You Need to Have For Success

There is something top performers, super achievers have that sets them apart from the crowd. And if you want to live your greatest life this year, and have your dreams come true; whatever those dreams are, then you need to develop that quality – which is the indestructible personality.

A person with the indestructible personality cannot be stopped, he will cont be crushed, and he is never denied. He has an unshakeable believe in his destiny, such that when bad things happen, when adversity strike, like it strikes in every life, he is not moved, but rather moves with unrelenting courage.

Do you have a dream? Then you need to have this trait in you. I was told of John Grisham, famous American Novelist, who at the time was a Baptist Sunday school teacher in Virginia, Mississippi. That when he wrote his first novel “A Time to Kill”, he sent it out to a publisher, and waited for the good news, only to be told by the publisher that it was unpublishable. His manuscript was rejected by 25 different publishers. It was the 26th publisher that agreed to publish it and today, he is a worldwide phenomenon.

Dr. Seuss, famous Children book Author’s fist work was rejected by 26 publishers, and it took the 27th one to publish his work. J.K. Rowling, Multi billionaire author, had her famous book “Harry Potter” rejected by 7 publishers, only for the 8th one, a relatively unknown publishing firm to give her a chance and she was told the book will not sell. This list goes on and on. Britney Spears was told she wasn’t going to make it her as a musician, she never allowed those rejection to stop her dream.

Folk if you want to achieve success this year, you have to become unstoppable. Don’t stop because you were turned down. Try some place else. Like those top achievers, if you want to make a difference  in life, you need to be indestructible. You need to let rejection roll off you. Continue reading 1 Key Trait You Need to Have For Success

Your Season Will Come

God’s word says there is a time and a season for everything (and everyone) under the heavens. As it is with the climate where we experience a change of seasons periodically during the year, so it is with our lives. We all experience seasons at one time or the other in our lives. What season are you experiencing today?

For some of us, we may be experiencing seasons of drought, for some it is a season of tears, still for some, ours may be a season of heartbreak and disappointment by the people we love. Whatever it is you are going through right now, don’t despair – because just like the climate you will surely experience a season of sunshine; of blessings; of breakthroughs; of love; of laughter. You just need to hang on, and not give up faith.

Perhaps you are reading this and thinking, “This can’t happen to me. I have been facing this season for too long now.” “There’s no hope for me at all”, and so on. I want you to know that miracles do happen. And no matter how long and dark a night is, there will certainly be day break. There’s always sunshine after the rainfall – but then even the rain has its purpose, it wasn’t at all wasted.

With this in mind, instead of crying and complaining about the hardship seasons, the disappointments, let us try and look for the gold in our present conditions. Remember the scripture says for everything there is a purpose. So let us seek for the lessons embedded inside our present conditions. Continue reading Your Season Will Come

How Our Beliefs Shape Us

I read about an experiment where researchers placed a large fish in the middle of an aquarium with minnows to feed on. The fish fed to its delight. Then the researchers decided to place a glass partition in the aquarium, dividing it in two. After the fish had eaten all of the minnows on his side of the partition, it could see the other minnows through the glass but it couldn’t get to them. It thrashed, bumped, and bashed its body against the glass partition, but to no avail. Since it couldn’t get to them, it formed the belief that it was impossible for it to get those minnows. It gave up and stopped trying.

Then the researchers removed the glass partition and allowed the minnows to swim all around it. It could see them and feel them but since it believed those minnows were no longer available to him, that they were forever locked away from its reach.  It starved to death in the middle of an aquarium full of food.

Everywhere you look, people are starving to death in the middle of aquarium teeming with food.Everywhere you look, people are blinded to the prosperity that surrounds them, deaf to the sound of opportunity knocking on their own front door, insensitive to the intuitive feelings that flood their entire being.

Some say they have been chained by circumstances; a lack of good education, poor parentage, etc.  But really, you are held back not by these things but by your beliefs. You see, it has been proven by so many authorities in science, religion, psychology, even by others who have succeeded, that you can improve your outer condition if you improve your inner life.
