Ever heard the phrase, “If you cannot do what you like, then like what you do.” That is one of the secrets of a truly successful life. In life you may be sometimes required to do things you don’t like; jobs that are below your qualifications, assignments that are far inferior to you. If you are in this position remember the phrase above and a message in scripture that says, whatever you find to do, do it with all your heart as on to God.
If you are presently finding it difficult to achieve success in any area of your life, just trust God who is able to make a way for you. Have faith in God and take whatever he gives you; believe that you can succeed; be willing to fail if He wants you to have the discipline of failure.
Life is a challenge, a struggle, a push, to be the best you can be, to make the most of your life. But in that struggle, push, or challenge is the value of life. Those who don’t push, don’t succeed. Those who sit by and whine and complain always remain that way.
A lot of us are hoping and wishing for a good life. We believe God is going to take care of our future for us, that everything is going to turn out just fine in the end. Sure I believe in miracles and I know that God has good plans for us. But those plans won’t come to pass without us playing our own roles.
You can’t sit around and expect things to work out without you doing anything. Stop hoping without taking action. Stop wishing without doing. Let me tell you the truth, your life isn’t going to change, if anything it is going to change for worse if you don’t get up and start acting on it.Continue reading Enough of Just Hoping→
These past weeks life has been pushing me hard in different fronts. Having just relocated to a new city and finding that even though there are so many opportunities here, one still needs to fight even harder before I can breakthrough.
Everyday life seems to be making it harder for me to breakthrough but I am determined to fight back and make it even more difficult for it to break me either. In the past I would have given in and allowed myself to be pushed around, but not anymore. Today when life shows up and say “You can’t make it here” I reply “I can”; “You don’t have any contacts in the city” I reply “I have God with me.”; “You can never do it” I reply “Yes I can.”
Friends, is life pushing you too? You can resolve to push back and never let life, in the form of anybody or anything push you without pushing back because what you permit will grow bigger. Remember you are somebody. What someone else has done or achieved before you can do it too. You can succeed. You can conquer.
“We can complain that the rose has bushes, have thorns or we can complain that thorns have roses.” – Abraham Lincoln
Like the thorns are always parts of the rose flower, so are problems part of life. There isn’t a life without some form of problem or the other. But some of us have made it habitual to complain about our problems. We are always seeking friends, family and church to complain to. In my country today many people are always seeking for prophets and “prayer warriors” to eliminate problems, failing to understand that a problem free person is a dead person. Many times we face difficulties, uncertainties and challenges that threaten to destroy our relationships, marriages and life. What surprises me most times when I go through days of having series of challenges is by just sleeping and waking up the next day, everything return back to normal as if I never had challenges the previous day.
A day makes a lot of difference in our lives. If you are having a difficult day, never give up and think your life is a difficult one, its just one day! If you endure till the breaking of a new one, you will see that most of your problems have passed along with the previous one miraculously.
The scripture says, weeping may endure for a night but joy always comes in the morning. Many of us will agree with this if we can cast our minds back to the many mornings our challenges at work, our quarrels at home, our fights with our friends etc have been miraculously resolved for us by a new day. Many times we are wont to complain about our difficulties and challenges, but the fact is difficulties and not the good life is what it takes to develop into the man or woman God created you to be. Some of us will agree that we are able to handle life better today because of the challenges we faced in the past.
Early on in my life I faced a lot of difficulties because my parents suffered some financial setbacks, so I was made to grow up earlier than most of my mates. Back then I used to feel bad that I had to hawk at a time; I had to go to the farm after school, or some days even skipped school for farm.
There were times I had to travel alone for hours often riding a motor bike across villages and forest to attend to my family’s business. There were also times when we couldn’t afford three square meals so we had to make do with one or two…then it was painful for me.
Today as I look at my life and how God is dealing with me, I can only look back in thanks for having me go through that phase early in life. Although life isn’t altogether rosy for me now, but I can face any challenge life throws at me easily because it can never be as hard as the ones I had face earlier. My child, I have a message for you today. Let me whisper it in your ear so any storm clouds that may arise will shine with glory, and the rough places you may have to walk will be made smooth. It is only four words, but let them sink into your inner being, and use them as a pillow to rest your weary head.“This is my doing.”
Have you ever realized that whatever concerns you concerns Me too? “For whoever touches you touches the apple of [my] eye”(Zech.2:8).“You are precious and honored in my sight” (Isa. 43:4).Therefore it is My special delight to teach you.
I want you to learn when temptations attack you, and the enemy comes in “like a pent-up flood” (Isa.59:19),that “this is my doing” and that your weakness needs My strength, and your safety lies in letting Me fight for you.
Are you in difficult circumstances, surrounded by people who do not understand you, never ask your opinion, and always push you aside? “This is my doing.” I am the God of circumstances. You did not come to this place by accident—you are exactly where I meant for you to be.
Have you not asked Me to make you humble? Then see that I have placed you in the perfect school where this lesson is taught. Your circumstances and the people around you are only being used to accomplish My will. Continue reading A Message Of Hope→
