Back Your Dreams With Action

Just recently I was asked by a man, why in spite of his strong faith in God and his string desire for success, he doesn’t have any success in his life, all his dreams and desires remain unfulfilled? I looked at him and I was genuinely sorry for him, because I could see how passionately he talked about his desires.

After waiting for him to finish speaking, I asked him, what he has done in order to get what he want? How many hours he has put in to work out his dreams and desires? And he gave me an answer that I see as the reason why he hasn’t been successful; he wasn’t doing everything it takes to succeed. He wasn’t going out to put in massive action equivalent to his desires and faith.

Folks the reason why many people fail to realize their dreams/goals is that they are not willing to do their part to make it real. People pray, fast, visualize, affirm, but they don’t back these up with any physical action. “The longing, the desire to do a anything is merely sowing the seed of ambition.” Continue reading Back Your Dreams With Action

Today is my birthday. And as I look back at my life, the years I have spent so far, all I can say is that, if not for God’s grace and hand upon me, I would have long been gone. God’s been good to me, and I really lack the words to express my gratitude to Him.

Two years ago, God made me discover the reasons why I had to go through the challenges I went through in life; why I had to suffer heartbreaks and disappointments; why I had to fail in my ventures; why I had to experience so many delays in my life. Then he gave me a message to inspire people to live their greatest life…which is what I try to do with my blog.

I am grateful to you my followers….to all of you who have been a part of this blog since 2013 when I set out on my journey. God bless you all. Today I have a dream, a dream to take my message of hope and inspiration to my community and country via the radio by starting an inspirational talk show. Continue reading Let’s Take This Walk

Negative Opinion is Poison

The journey towards success, or a better life is laced with many obstacles and challenges, but the one that stops many of us, is that conviction that our dreams and goals are beyond our reach. Many of us have been sold this lie. We have allowed the many suppressive and negative forces to direct our thoughts and aims toward mediocrity.

In the beginning of our lives it wasn’t always so. God created us with a charge to have dominion over all things. The scripture says we are called to be the head and not the tail. As children we all had great dreams and goals. Visit any primary school today, or talk to any young boy or girl, you will be surprised that they have plans to conquer the world, to attain important positions in life, to become famous and wealthy, to be Olympic champions and so on.

But when they become teens and young adults, the negative suppressive forces that stopped their parents begin to work on them, sometimes it is their own parents and older relatives who failed to act on their own lives that set out to lead these young lads into mediocrity.

They begin to tell them, it is foolish to be a dreamer, that their ideas are impractical, unachievable, stupid, naïve, foolish, doesn’t suit the times and the economy, or that they would need a terrible amount of money to go anywhere in life, or that “luck determines who gets ahead or you’ve got to have important friends,” or you’re “too old or too young.” Continue reading Negative Opinion is Poison

Stay On Your Goals

Let me share this story with you: “A Canadian bird decided that it was too much trouble to fly south for the winter. He said to himself, “I can brave a winter. A lot of other animals do it. It just can’t be that hard.” So as all the other birds flocked away toward sunny South America, he stayed behind and waited for winter.

By the end of November, he was having serious second thoughts. He had never been so cold, and he couldn’t find any food. Finally he broke down and realized that if he didn’t get out of there soon, he wasn’t going to make it. So he started flying south all by himself.

After a while it began to rain. And before he knew it, the water was turning to ice on his wings. Struggling, he recognized that he couldn’t fly any longer. He knew he was going to die, so he glided down and made his last landing, crashing to the ground in a barnyard.

As he lay there stunned, a cow came by, stepped over him, and dropped a plop right on him. He was totally disgusted. Here I am, he thought, freezing to death. I am about to die. I am on my last breath, and then this! What an awful way to go.

So then the bird held his breath and prepared himself to die. But after about two minutes, he discovered that a miracle was happening: He was warming up. The ice on his wings was melting. His muscles were thawing out. His blood was flowing again. He realized that he was going to make it after all. He got so excited and happy that he began to sing a glorious song. Do You Have a Dream?

“The dreamers are the saviours of the world…Humanity cannot forget its dreamers; it cannot let their ideals fade and die; it lives in them, it knows them as the realities which it shall one day see and know.

The world we live in today is made beautiful by the dreams of people. Everything you see around today was once a dream; an idea conceived by someone at some time, in some place. Columbus had a dream of another world, and he discovered it. Copernicus had a dream of a multiplicity of worlds and a wider universe, and he revealed it. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates dreamed of personal computers, and they realized it. Nelson Mandela dreamed of a free Country, and he realized it. This list is endless.

Do you have a dream in your heart? Cherish it remain true to your dream and vision. “Cherish your dreams; cherish your ideals; cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind…for out of them will grow all delightful conditions…if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.” You see nature unfolds as a dream. Some of the most magnificent things in nature began as a dream; you were once a foetus; the bird was once an egg; the tree no matter how big, was once a seed. “Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” Keep dreaming! No matter how bleak your present circumstance may be, you can change it when you dream, and strive to reach it.

Dreams do come true. Yes your dream can come true, as long as it is not a mere wish. No matter who you are or where you are from, you will fall, remain, or rise with your dreams. You become as small as your dreams, or as great as your dreams – It’s time to start dreaming big. Continue reading Do You Have a Dream?

Rise Above Your Limitations

Many of us have been trained from infancy to think small thoughts. Our minds have been saturated with the thoughts of poverty, lack, scarcity, limitations etc. And if you are from, or live in my part of the world, then you hear talks of poverty and limitation from morning till night, you see poverty-stricken conditions everywhere. Everybody around is talking limitation, scarcity, lack, diseases, failure. Little wonder there is so much lack and want around.

Folks, let’s break this bond. Do not repeat the poverty and limiting conditions of your parents, families, and environments. It starts with the belief, with developing a positive mental attitude. No matter how black the outlook or how rusty your environment is, positively refuse to see anything that is unfavourable to you. Refuse to see the obstacles. Refuse to see any condition which wants to enslave you, and keep you from rising above your environment, and keep you from living your greatest life!

Remember, “The man who is bound to win, believes he is going to be prosperous; he starts with the understanding with himself that he is going to be a successful man. A winner and not a loser.”

Have faith. The Bible says; “…Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there’, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20

Made For Greatness

“One of the greatest curses of the world is the belief in the necessity of poverty. Most people have a strong conviction that some must necessarily be poor; that they are made to be poor. But there was no poverty, no want, no lack, in the Creator’s plan for man.”

The Bible says; “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof”. The earth is full of resources we haven’t yet touched. We have been poor in the midst of abundance, we have failed when success is attainable, and we have lived mediocre lives when greatness is possible, because of our limiting thoughts and beliefs.

You see, “As a man thinks in his heart so is he”. It has also been said that “thoughts are things, and they are incorporated into the life and form part of our character.” So if we harbour the thoughts of fear, the thoughts of lack, the thoughts of poverty, thoughts of failure, thoughts of mediocrity, like magnets, we begin to attract these negative things into our lives.

You were created to be fruitful, to multiply, to have dominion on the earth, not to have a hard time getting a living. You weren’t created to squeeze along; to get together a few comforts, to spend about all your time “making a living instead of making a life” – You were made for greatness!

Today decide that you will turn your back on the thoughts and ideas of poverty, lack, failure, fear, worry, struggles. Instead you will expect success, prosperity and greatness, and that you will hold these thoughts in your mind, and try to daily live in the realization of your desires; to act it until you become, to imitate until you emulate and possess greatness.

The truth is, “we live in our own worlds, we are creations of our own thoughts. Each builds his own world by his thought habit.” You can surround yourself with an atmosphere of abundance, or of lack; of success, or of failure; of plenty, or of want; of greatness, or of mediocrity.

Live your greatest life!

Do Not Give Up On Your Dream

Some of us have been told it is dangerous to dream, to use our imaginations. When we dream, we were told that we are building castles in the air. We have been tagged “Dreamers.” But our doubters fail to realize that every real castle, every home, every home was an ‘air castle’ in the mind of the Architect first.

Dreaming is creative, as it brings into reality our desires and hopes. The skyscrapers, and other amazing structures you see around today, were first a dream, then they were put down on paper as plans, before they were erected.

Every man or woman who has accomplished great things in life, have been a dreamer, and whatever they accomplished have been in direct proportion to the clarity, the energy, the persistency with which they visualized their desires, held to their dreams and struggled to make them a reality.

Never give up on your dream because it is presently not being realized, or because you’ve been told you can’t have them, or because you cannot see it coming true. Hold on to your vision with all the strength you have. Keep your dreams bright. Fan the flames of your desires; do not allow the challenges and successes of life dim it. Become ambitious and focused in the pursuit of your dreams. Read the books, blog posts, articles that will stimulate your ambitions. Get close to people who have done what you are trying to do, learn from them, “imitate until you emulate; match and surpass those who launched you.

“Do not be afraid of your vision, or your power to dream, ‘for without vision the people perish.” Live your greatest life!

What Others think About You Is Irrelevant

A lot of us have failed to advance in life, or pursue our dreams at some point because we lived on other people’s opinions, worried about what people may think about our actions. The truth is most of the time, nobody is thinking about you at all. The people we are worrying about are too busy worrying about their own lives to bother about us. And the only time they think about you, they are wondering what you are thinking about them.

If having others believing in you and your dream was the requirement for success, then, I would never accomplish anything worthwhile. We need to base our decisions about what we want to do and achieve on our desires, plans, and goals. Not the goals, desires, opinions, and judgements of our spouses, friends, parents, children and colleagues. Its never about them, it is about you and what gives you joy. Quit worrying about what others think about you and follow your heart.

The 18/40/60 rule by Dr. Daniel Amen says;

At 18 you worry about what everyone thinks of you. At 40 you don’t care what anybody thinks of you. At 60 you realise no one was thinking about you anyway!

With this realization let us quit thinking and worrying about what others think of our relationships, our jobs, our looks, our income, our marriage choices. Let us spend that energy and time thinking about our goals and our to make our lives better.
