Podcast Episode 18: Why Voluntarily Enslave Yourself?

Do you think someone has to approve of the things you do before you do them? Are you constantly trying to please others in your relationships, jobs, business even when you are hurting inside? Then you may be voluntarily enslaving yourself.

Too many people today are slaves to the thinking and actions of others. They strain themselves to do things simply because others do them, they let other people’s opinions define who they are and become.

If you find yourself in this situation, where you are in constant need of the validation of others, then you should immediately listen to this audio specially made for you, to break you free from the slavery you have voluntarily brought yourself into. It will inspire you to find your own voice or image in a world where people are drowning in the oceans of others opinion of them.

Feel free to share it with someone you know – you may be saving a life!

This Year Will Become What You Make of It

Today it has become so natural for us to blame our mistakes and failures, ill health, unfavourable circumstances and conditions, our unhappiness and our disappointments in all the walks of life on “fate!” How prone we are to attribute our ills and failures to some external factor or cause, when the real cause lies within ourselves!

This is simply because we have become so used to thinking that the causes which control and shape our lives are external and such as can be measured by the physical senses. We have become so used to considering everything from a material standpoint—perceiving only that which can be weighed in the balance of human intelligence or measured with scales and metre rule that we have actually grown into the belief that the things which govern our lives and control our destiny are external.

We have been conditioned to live a material life, and have become grossly in materialism, that we have lost sight almost entirely of the higher, spiritual and more potential forces by and through which our lives and our destinies are controlled.

In this new year, too many people still believe in fate and horoscopes. They believe that what will be, will be and they don’t have control over how the year will turn out to be. Folks from my standpoint, there is no such thing as “fate” and nothing ever “happens.” Scientists, psychologists, and even the Bible show that to a greater extent, the cause of whatever comes to any person lies within the person. How to Deal with a Challenging Life

Most of us think of the wonderful things we would do if we could only get rid of the worries, the annoyances, the disturbances that prick us day by day, as well as the things that defeat our ambitions – the failures, the disappointments, the heartbreaks, the blunders, the setbacks that continually tend to befall us and discourage us.

Yet the real test of our strength is whether we will fulfil our purposes; carry out our life plan and become successful in spite of all the things that are apparently trying to hold us down, or, whether we will allow ourselves to be overcome by the hindrances that slow the steps of everyone going after their dreams.

For how long will you whine and carry a long, sad face giving the world the impression that your life has been full of disappointments? For how long will you keep telling your woe stories, that you haven’t achieved your goals because of the setbacks that you have experienced this year?

For how long are you going to let your troubles and trials, challenges and annoyances which happen to every career and everyone, keep you down? For how long will you keep allowing disappointments and failures to worry and devitalize you that you cannot do the biggest thing possible to you? Are you going to be a victim of your troubles and trials in spite of your divine possibilities? Continue reading How to Deal with a Challenging Life

Always Get the Best of People

Learn to take advantage of your neighbours, friends, relatives and associates, and get the best of them. Now, don’t be shocked. Let me explain. In every respectable person you know there are desirable traits of character. In every loving friend, there are qualities that you need.

Our associations influence us whether we believe it or not. And the late Jim Rohn said, and this has been widely proven by the way, “we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.”

Take advantage of your associations with these good people, select the best there is in their natures, and embody their virtues in yourself. Never mind their faults. You have enough of your own. You will find what you are looking for. You will embody what you recognize and admire; therefore look for the elements of success and admire and cherish the virtues of your friends.

Last week I was with a group of people, and while I was sharing some ideas with them, someone moved next to me and said, “Vincent I know you are an inspirational speaker and you always encourage people to stay positive and all, but I am going to watch you. I live close to you. I am going to find all your weak points and detect your meanness.” Continue reading Always Get the Best of People

The Secret to Real Success? Get Right with God

wpid-wp-1417272196607.jpeg

Put away the illusion that any real success is possible except when working in harmony with Divine law and living by Divine grace. All effort contrary to the God’s will is worse than wasted. Most people foolishly expect to win out in life moving against the forces and laws that govern the universe! Don’t be deceived as no one did succeed that way.

Take a moment to think about this. If you fill your right pocket by emptying your left, are you making money? If you accumulate wealth by losing your soul, is that gain? If you acquire anything by fraud, or at the expense of health, or character, is that victory? If you gain prestige, fame, or fortune by the efforts of others without giving value received, is that success? No!

Every cheat is a failure. Every fraud is a loser. Every moral delinquent is bankrupt. Every dishonest dollar in a man’s pocket puts him a dollar in debt. Every hypocrite, whether in the social, economic, or religious world, is wasting his life and robbing humanity of the honest service he should render. Continue reading The Secret to Real Success? No One Knows You Better Than God

God knows the full details of your life; who you are, where you are going, and why you are here. And you must trust Him. A verse in the Bible helps us understand that God has amazing plans for you; plans that include prosperity and peace and to give you a great future. Another verse tells us that God will always be there for you, helping you in every step of the way.

Your belief and trust in God are paramount in your discovery of your definite purpose in life because it is through your faith that God will do everything for you and in you. “However, if the enemy of your soul can cause you to doubt these things, then he can attack the validity and necessity of your existence, which then leads to anxiety and depression.

Trusting the God who created you to guide you through this earth is where the rubber meets the road. And like a great friend of mine, Nikki Bless shared on her Facebook post recently; “When God led the children of Israel through the desert, they didn’t have a map or a compass or a smartphone with built-in GPS telling them when to turn. They didn’t even know where they were going. All they knew was that they were supposed to leave Egypt. As they obeyed and followed God, He took care of them. When they ran into a dead end at the Red Sea, He opened a road for them right through the water. When they were hungry, He dropped food from the sky. When they were thirsty, He poured water from a rock. When they didn’t know which way to go, He put a cloud in front of them to lead the way.” Continue reading No One Knows You Better Than God

Looking For Easy Success?

There is no royal road to success and prosperity in life. There are certain ordeals everyone faces as we pass through life, and the people who succeed are those who have learned to overcome those trials. I know sometimes we wish life were easier than it is now, and we prayed we had it like others or had wealthy family members who can make our lives easier, but depending too little on yourself and more on other people has been seen to ruin the lives of most people starting out in life.

The people who succeed in life are men and women who learned early on to depend on themselves. By relying on your efforts, you learn firsthand some of the most valuable life lessons that no amount of inherited or easy money can ever give to you, and which no person can ever take from you.

The only money that does a person right is what he earns himself. “A ready-made fortune, like ready-made clothes, seldom fits the man who comes into possession.” Nothing makes a man more economical than living on his account. Haven’t you seen that the most extravagant youths in our society are those who have Parents, or “Uncles,” who give them money frequently? But let those same individuals have no sources for money except what they earn, and they will immediately see more reasons for saving than for spending. Continue reading Looking For Easy Success?

Low Aspirations Lead to a Low Life!

It is easy to find too many people complaining about a lack of resources, lack of opportunities to make money and become rich in life. Folks like that are always looking for help outside of themselves. They think out there, is where the inspiration and solution lies, but as John Milton tells us, “There is nothing that makes men rich and strong but that which they carry inside of them. Wealth is of the heart, not of the hand.” We can go a step further and say that wealth of the heart rightly expressed will ensure physical wealth.

The secret of all great folks is found in their vision hours. They create time intentionally to dream and visualize their desires. God told Abraham in the Bible, to visualize and dream about his future, and how big or small his vision will determine what God will grant him. I notice that too many people don’t have any vision for their lives, they don’t dream, they are just reality focused.

I remember visiting a resort, owned by a very wealthy individual. I had heard so much about the place and the owner but never met him. So during that trip, I decided to spend time in the resort’s chapel. On entering there, I was surprised to see an old man in his 80s already in there meditating and writing down his thoughts in a journal so early in the morning. 25 Thoughts That Will Get You Happy Now!

  1. Acquire the habit of expecting success, of believing in happiness. Nothing succeeds like success; nothing makes happiness like happiness.
  2. So long as you retain your happiness you will retain all your power; and all the power that is in you is sufficient to overcome every obstacle, conquer every adversity and turn every circumstance to good account.
  3. The cheerful person makes a cheerful world.
  4. Happiness is a very beautiful thing,—the most beautiful and heavenly thing in the world,—but it is a result, a spiritual condition, and is not predetermined by your bank account or by the flattering incense of praise.
  5. To live, we must conquer incessantly; we must have the courage to be happy.
  6. To make much of little, to find reasons of interest in common things, to develop a sensibility to mild enjoyments, to inspire the imagination, to throw a charm upon homely and familiar things, will constitute a man master of his own happiness.
  7. The best way to secure future happiness is to be as happy as is rightfully possible today.
  8. Diamonds of shining joy lie glittering in every way we pass daily, but most of the passers-by only stub their toes against them.
  9. “Mental sunshine not only attracts the best from without, but it also causes the best to grow from within. We all prefer the sunshine, and we are naturally attracted wherever a sunbeam is in evidence.”
  10. If you feel cheerful and happy, it is very natural for you to laugh. And if you will laugh a little, you will begin to feel bright and cheerful.
  11. Probably the most lasting source of happiness is found in unselfish love. This keeps alive a constant interest in those who are the objects of affection, which, in turn, is naturally reflected into the relations of life.
  12. Few of us appreciate the number of our everyday blessings; we think they are little things, and yet little things are what life is made of.
  13. A serene face helps to make a serene soul; a smile on the lips induces a smile in the heart.
  14. If one would be happy, let him forget himself and go about making someone else happy.
  15. Look steadily on the bright side of life. Cultivate the grace of a good hope. Imitate the fine optimism of those of whom it is said that they can see stars where others saw only an unbroken expanse of cloud.
  16. Happiness is the result of God’s will for us, and not of our will for ourselves; and so we can only find it by giving our lives up, in submission and obedience, to the control of God.
  17. To believe and go forward is the key to success and to happiness.
  18. They who minister to their neighbours exercise one of the normal human functions, and enter thereby into the joy of a larger life.
  19. Write it in your heart that every day is the best day in the year.
  20. The first step toward happiness is to determine to be happy.
  21. If a man is unhappy, this must be his own fault; for God made all men to be happy.
  22. Happiness is discovered in many unsuspected places.
  23. Joy is not in things, it is in us, and I hold to the belief that the causes of our present unrest, of this contagious discontent spreading everywhere, are in us at least as much as in exterior conditions.
  24. Happy is that person who feels that God cares for him, that he journeys forward under divine convoy, that his Father is regent of universal wisdom, and represents the whole commonwealth of love, who is all Nature, and who commands all Nature to serve His child.
  25. It is no use to grumble and complain; It’s just as cheap and easy to rejoice
