Tired of Doing Good?

Tired of doing good and not being appreciated? I have had people tell me they don’t think they will help people anymore, because in spite of the good they do people don’t appreciate them, all they receive in return is criticism, “no thank yous” and so on.

While it is hurting to do good and not feel appreciated, it shouldn’t stop us from continuing our good works. The world may not see it and recognize it, but God sees everything and rewards everything. Do you want to stop doing good because it seems no one ever does same to you? Friends keep up is all I can say to you.

In the gospel of Mark, we find the parable of the Sower shared by Christ. Christ shared a story of a farmer that when to sow seeds, while he was casting his seeds, some fell by the road side and birds picked them up, some fell on rocky grounds, and when they grew they were over exposed to sun heat and the little plants died, others fell among thorns, and the thorns choked them so even though they grew, they couldn’t bear seeds. But the farmer being not discouraged, kept planting and finally some seeds fell on good grounds, these seeds germinated, grew and bore fruits, and he had a good harvest. How to Express Love

For many people it is so easy for them to think, say, and judge others than for them to act. I have heard many people talk about the things they would do if they had the kind of power or money others had. – “Oh if I were a millionaire, or blessed with some sudden wealth”…”I would reduce poverty in my community; I would build schools and give out scholarship to indigent students; I would build a specialist hospital and offer free medical services; I would show all these rich people what real philanthropy is.” Oh just how easy and sweet it is to spend money you don’t have; how easy it is to help people spend their fortunes!

While we may not all be millionaires and billionaires, we all have something…it may not be much, but it is still something. So the question is; are you living up to the little you have?  Are you generous with what you have where you are? It baffles me how anyone who is selfish with one thousand dollars will now suddenly become an angel giving generously when his millions arrive. The person who has the spirit of generosity in him does not make empty boasts and promises each time an opportunity to give or help someone presents itself. Continue reading How to Express Love

“You Reap What You Sow”

The whole of this life is run by choices, the choices we make every single second, minute, hour, day. And what you choose to give life will determine what life will give you in return tomorrow. Just like the Bible says; “Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others – ignoring God! – harvests a crop of weeds. All he will have to show for his life is weeds! But the person who plants in response to God, letting God’s spirit to do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life. – Galatians 6:7-8.

Your choices today, determines the kind of life you will lead tomorrow. As tomorrow is the consequence of your actions and inactions today. This is explained by Zig Ziglar; “You can choose to get drunk tonight, but when you do, you have chosen to feel miserable tomorrow. You can choose to light a cigarette today, but when you do, you have chosen to die fourteen minutes early. You can choose to eat properly today, and when you do, you have chosen to be healthier tomorrow. You can choose to be overweight, or you can choose to be the right weight. You can choose to be happy or you can choose to be sad. When we choose to be mean and nasty to other people, we have chosen to be treated in a mean and nasty fashion by others. By the same token, when we choose to be thoughtful and considerate to others, we have chosen to be treated in a thoughtful and considerate manner.”

Every farmer knows that when you plant a tomato seed, you will harvest tomato fruits. You cannot plant a tomato seed and expect to harvest apple fruits. When we understand this principle, we would be careful of the choices we make. Whatever experiences we are facing at the moment were created by our choices. Most of us did so without knowing what we were doing.

Set yourself up for success and greatness tomorrow. Read books, blog posts, articles that inspire, listen to audios, and speak and think good things every day! You create your own happiness, and it starts with the choices you make, “with what you input on a regular basis.”

Remember, “You are free to choose, but the choices you make today will determine what you will have, be, and do in the tomorrows of your life.” – Zig Ziglar.

“You are successful when you remember that somewhere, sometime, someone gave you a gift. That gift is what started you in the right direction. Remember that you are blessed when you pass that gift on to help someone else.” – Keith Harrell

Make Christmas A Habit

The idea of Christmas is centred on personal sacrifice. The giving of oneself without the expectation of anything in return. Giving without expecting anything in return is an act of humility. As you give this Christmas, how do you feel when your gifts are not reciprocated? Do you also expect others to give back to you?

The bible says in 2 Corinthians 9:7 “Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He [a]takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving].”

If we all practice Christmas as a habit, the world would be lovelier. As John Carver III wrote; “what if we, as a society practiced Christmas all year? Here is what I think it would look like;

People would care more about giving of the time, talents and treasures (money) than receiving the same.

People would look for ways to share instead of bargain.

People would go out of their way to do MORE than is expected.

People would not give to get…they would just give to give.

Young people would GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to share in the responsibilities around their homes.

People would respect the elderly because of all their accumulated wisdom. There is a hidden benefit to GIVING. YOU WILL RECEIVE in ways you cannot imagine. Don’t give to get but when you develop the habit of giving you open up your mind and emotions to realize blessings in your life that you cannot imagine!”

6 Biblical Principles For Success

1. Walking in truth:
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” III John 1.
“If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:31-32
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee…” Deuteronomy 28:1-2.(KJV)
“Who then are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. They will spend their days in prosperity..” Psalms 25:12-13

2. Faithfulness:
“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
“Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right” Psalms 106:3 “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him….” II Chronicles 16:9 “a faithful man shall abound with blessings.” Proverbs 28:20

3. Diligence:
“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:20-23 (KJV)
“…He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” Hebrews 11:6
“The hand of the diligent maketh rich.” Proverbs 10:4 (KJV)

4. Tithing:
“Honour the Lord with your capital and sufficiency.and with the first fruits of all your income; so shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and your vats shall be overflowing with new wine” Proverbs 3:9-10 (The Amplified Bible).
“And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s: it is holy unto the Lord.” Leviticus 27:30
Bring all the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, “Says the Lord Almighty,” and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it Malachi 3:10.

5. Giving:
“He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” II Corinthians 9:6 (KJV)
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” Luke 6:38
Be not deceived God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7

6. Faith:
“…The just shall live by faith” Romans 1:17 (KJV)
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” II Corinthians 4:13 (KJV)
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” Mark 11:23 (KJV)
