So many businesses, dreams, aspirations that could have changed the world have not seen the light of the day due to a lack of courage. Every waking day sends people into obscurity who could have been famous had they had the courage to put some efforts on their dreams and goals.
Folks to do anything meaningful in this world, you must not stand back, and muse about the things that can go wrong in your ideas, or wait for the perfect chances of big opportunities before you venture out. The Bible says, that “Whoever keeps staring at the wind won’t sow; whoever daydreams won’t reap.”
Too many folks today spend so much time calculating and consulting with others until one day they find that they have lost all the time available. While it is good to think things through, it is dangerous to over think. For some others, the reason their dreams and goals are not being realized is that they are looking for the validation of others before they pursue those dreams and goals. It’s November, just two months to the end of this year. While people who may not have hit their goals for the year may be exasperated that the year is running too fast, I am holding on to God’s word that says, “better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof”
No matter where you are on your goals for the year, just remember that it is over yet, and you can still crown this year with success. But for this to happen, you must get up each day to begin to turn things up. You see the greatest obstacle to success in life is just sitting by and trusting that something will turn up instead of going to work and turning things up.
Today too many people are relying on chance, horoscope, or luck rather than on certainties. This mindset as slowly crept into our churches, where we find Christian faithful who wouldn’t put God’s word to work by taking the steps to bring their dreams to reality, instead they wait for things to be miraculously provided for them.
Now I am not against trusting and relying in God, by all means we should. But we must proof our trust by going out to our part. God provides for the birds and animals, how much more us. But then observe the birds and animals, and you will realize that no bird or animal sits back in its nest, hole, or den, and wait for food to be provided. They instead go out, to find God’s provision. Continue reading It’s Not Too Late To Have A Great Year→
Times are hard. Almost every country globally is experiencing one form of economic challenge or the other. If you are going through some tough moments, yet you really want to achieve success, here are 4 practical strategies you can use to achieve success in your business/work:
1. Have something to give to the world that is worth giving, that the world wants:
Your success depends not just on your efforts and hard work, but on how people appreciate those efforts. Because no matter how good your work/products/service may be, if it isn’t appreciated your results will be limited. You will be wasting so much time and energy only to benefit no one, not even yourself.
In order to be appreciated, your goal must be to not give the kind of service/products/work you think the world should want, but to give that which you are convinced they want. Remember by seeking to please others with your services, you in turn please yourself. Make what you give so valuable that people will want to buy/pay for your services/products without much effort and persuasion from you.
2. Be determined to serve the world better in your niche than it was ever served before:
Whatever it is you do, know that it can always be done better, and know that that better can be done by you.
Some time back, business took me to a rural community, where I met an older woman among the other people I had cause to interact with. This lady had a very compelling story that I still think about till this day.
The lady told me about her dreams; her dreams of freedom, about how she dreamed of life in the “big city”, where she will be rich building houses, owing cars, and having enough to give back to her community. I spent hours with her listening to her dreams…dreams she never chased.
Now in the city I meet many people too with dreams; with dreams of building big businesses, travelling round the world, being financially free, they talk about all the greatness they will achieve and when night comes, they sleep thinking they have achieved something…dreams.
Most of us are creative dreamers. We build cities and businesses, we paint pictures, do great things, all in obedience to an inner impulse. But the truth is, as long as we are content to enjoy the dream as a dream, we are slaves. Slaves to our thoughts and wishes.
