Daily Inspiration: You Have A Greater Power In You!

Consider this truth: “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” What a profound truth!

There is something greater in you than that which is holding you back from your ambition, which is keeping you in poverty, which is thwarting your desire for an education.

There is something in you that is bigger than any negative circumstance or setback, than anything which opposes your growth in life. This power that works inside you is independent of fire or flood, of hard times or failure.

There is something in you that can rise above sickness, above disease, above poverty, above everything that would hinder you from becoming the man or the woman you were created to become, from achieving your dreams and goals.

It is inside you. Just reach in and tap into that force!

How To Have An Unhappy Life

Unhappiness comes when we put our hopes and trust in our fellow humans instead of putting them on God and ourselves. When we are able to eradicate this need of others and begin to believe that our lives direction is determined by God and our own efforts, we will see how happy we become despite the circumstances we find ourselves.

I can tell you this because I have been a victim of this. There were times, a few years ago when I blamed my family for my situation. I felt unloved and held bitterness in my heart, and the result was my lack of progress.

You see the fact is, you can never move forward when you are dwelling in the past when you are heavily laden with burdens because the mind needs to be totally free for it to think clearly.

A couple of weeks back I met a lady who still blamed her situation on a failed relationship of 5 years back. She went on lamenting and blaming the guy for being responsible for her still being single because he left her for another. The guy is obviously not aware of this and had moved on from then to start his own family, yet she was still stuck in that chapter of her life. Continue reading How To Have An Unhappy Life

The Danger in Helping Too Much

Blessings can sometimes turn to a curse in one’s life. Even kindness may be overdone. One may be too gentle. Love may hold others back from their purpose and wreck their destinies. There are times when in the process loving others we meddle with God’s discipline for them.

Of course, we are to be helpful to others. No aim should be put higher in our life-plans than that of personal helpfulness. The motto of the true Christian cannot be other than that of the Master: “Not to be ministered unto, but to minister.”

Even in the ambition to gather and retain wealth, the spirit of the desire must be, if we are Christians at all, that thereby we may become more helpful to others; that through, or by means of, our wealth, we may be enabled to do larger and greater good. Whatever gift, power, or possession we have that we do not seek to use in this way is not yet truly devoted to God.

There are many ways to help others, yet too often most people think if you are not giving material things out, you are not helping, yet the truest and best help anyone can give to others is not in material things, but in ways that make them stronger and better. Money is good alms when money is really needed, but in comparison with the divine gifts of hope, friendship, courage, sympathy, and love, it is paltry and poor. Have You Never Seen God?

As a little boy growing up, I used to wonder and imagined a lot about if I will ever see God. In all the stories I was told in Sunday school and the books I read described God in His glory and magnificence.

I felt chill cold each time I attended crusades with older people and see people fall under the anointing, and I thought about how powerful God was throwing people around at the mention of his name.

I thought then that God was only found in some churches, in assemblies where the preachers are holy and can perform miracles…I thought people like me could never see God as he reveals himself only to special and holy people, not to boys like me who tell lies, disobey parents, wear dirty clothes etc sometimes.

As an adult today, I still see people think the way I thought as a little boy. I hear people talk about how God is in some churches and not in others. And how miracles represent the presence of God and so on. Continue reading Have You Never Seen God?

Podcast Episode 19: What is Your Moral Compass?

There are times in life when we have to stand up for what we know in our moral compass is right.

In our world today, with everything that is happening, you could see that our morality is being thrown away. People will rather be liked than stand up for what is right.

What about you, are you conforming with the crowd, or you have a moral compass and you stick with it. The bible clearly warns us not conform to the patterns of the world.

This serves as a reminder for those of us who may have forgotten about our morality in dealing with life’s issues, and also as a beacon of courage to anyone who is struggling with the attitude of people towards him/her for choosing to be different in a world where people are dying to conform with the crowd.

Listen to it, download it, and share it with others. If it blesses you in any way, share your thoughts in the comments below.

This Year Will Become What You Make of It

Today it has become so natural for us to blame our mistakes and failures, ill health, unfavourable circumstances and conditions, our unhappiness and our disappointments in all the walks of life on “fate!” How prone we are to attribute our ills and failures to some external factor or cause, when the real cause lies within ourselves!

This is simply because we have become so used to thinking that the causes which control and shape our lives are external and such as can be measured by the physical senses. We have become so used to considering everything from a material standpoint—perceiving only that which can be weighed in the balance of human intelligence or measured with scales and metre rule that we have actually grown into the belief that the things which govern our lives and control our destiny are external.

We have been conditioned to live a material life, and have become grossly in materialism, that we have lost sight almost entirely of the higher, spiritual and more potential forces by and through which our lives and our destinies are controlled.

In this new year, too many people still believe in fate and horoscopes. They believe that what will be, will be and they don’t have control over how the year will turn out to be. Folks from my standpoint, there is no such thing as “fate” and nothing ever “happens.” Scientists, psychologists, and even the Bible show that to a greater extent, the cause of whatever comes to any person lies within the person. The Secret to Real Success? Get Right with God

wpid-wp-1417272196607.jpeg

Put away the illusion that any real success is possible except when working in harmony with Divine law and living by Divine grace. All effort contrary to the God’s will is worse than wasted. Most people foolishly expect to win out in life moving against the forces and laws that govern the universe! Don’t be deceived as no one did succeed that way.

Take a moment to think about this. If you fill your right pocket by emptying your left, are you making money? If you accumulate wealth by losing your soul, is that gain? If you acquire anything by fraud, or at the expense of health, or character, is that victory? If you gain prestige, fame, or fortune by the efforts of others without giving value received, is that success? No!

Every cheat is a failure. Every fraud is a loser. Every moral delinquent is bankrupt. Every dishonest dollar in a man’s pocket puts him a dollar in debt. Every hypocrite, whether in the social, economic, or religious world, is wasting his life and robbing humanity of the honest service he should render. Continue reading The Secret to Real Success? No One Knows You Better Than God

God knows the full details of your life; who you are, where you are going, and why you are here. And you must trust Him. A verse in the Bible helps us understand that God has amazing plans for you; plans that include prosperity and peace and to give you a great future. Another verse tells us that God will always be there for you, helping you in every step of the way.

Your belief and trust in God are paramount in your discovery of your definite purpose in life because it is through your faith that God will do everything for you and in you. “However, if the enemy of your soul can cause you to doubt these things, then he can attack the validity and necessity of your existence, which then leads to anxiety and depression.

Trusting the God who created you to guide you through this earth is where the rubber meets the road. And like a great friend of mine, Nikki Bless shared on her Facebook post recently; “When God led the children of Israel through the desert, they didn’t have a map or a compass or a smartphone with built-in GPS telling them when to turn. They didn’t even know where they were going. All they knew was that they were supposed to leave Egypt. As they obeyed and followed God, He took care of them. When they ran into a dead end at the Red Sea, He opened a road for them right through the water. When they were hungry, He dropped food from the sky. When they were thirsty, He poured water from a rock. When they didn’t know which way to go, He put a cloud in front of them to lead the way.” Continue reading No One Knows You Better Than God

How to Get Satisfaction and Fun on Your Job

I was standing around in an area that has a bus stop frequently used by workers from both the public and private sectors. And on that fateful day, all I heard from those workers who were going home after closing from work was complaint and lamentation about their jobs and their pay. Almost every one of them seemed miserable and dissatisfied with their job and the income they were getting from it.

This is the mindset of average people – to complain about their jobs and the satisfaction they get from it. No matter what you do, magnify to yourself the importance of your work. There are no small jobs only small workers. Most people fail to realize that when you do your job haphazardly or in a mean way, it doesn’t reflect the job, but it does reflect you.

The way you carry out your daily assignments or go about your business daily is a mirror reflecting the world the sort of an individual you are. “The character of an individual shines through his task.” Too many people are not giving their best on their jobs because they think the job is beneath them or the environment isn’t fun. Folks you can find satisfaction and fun on any job if you took it differently and changed your perception of the job. Continue reading How to Get Satisfaction and Fun on Your Job
