The Secret to Real Success? Get Right with God

wpid-wp-1417272196607.jpeg

Put away the illusion that any real success is possible except when working in harmony with Divine law and living by Divine grace. All effort contrary to the God’s will is worse than wasted. Most people foolishly expect to win out in life moving against the forces and laws that govern the universe! Don’t be deceived as no one did succeed that way.

Take a moment to think about this. If you fill your right pocket by emptying your left, are you making money? If you accumulate wealth by losing your soul, is that gain? If you acquire anything by fraud, or at the expense of health, or character, is that victory? If you gain prestige, fame, or fortune by the efforts of others without giving value received, is that success? No!

Every cheat is a failure. Every fraud is a loser. Every moral delinquent is bankrupt. Every dishonest dollar in a man’s pocket puts him a dollar in debt. Every hypocrite, whether in the social, economic, or religious world, is wasting his life and robbing humanity of the honest service he should render. Continue reading The Secret to Real Success? How to Get Satisfaction and Fun on Your Job

I was standing around in an area that has a bus stop frequently used by workers from both the public and private sectors. And on that fateful day, all I heard from those workers who were going home after closing from work was complaint and lamentation about their jobs and their pay. Almost every one of them seemed miserable and dissatisfied with their job and the income they were getting from it.

This is the mindset of average people – to complain about their jobs and the satisfaction they get from it. No matter what you do, magnify to yourself the importance of your work. There are no small jobs only small workers. Most people fail to realize that when you do your job haphazardly or in a mean way, it doesn’t reflect the job, but it does reflect you.

The way you carry out your daily assignments or go about your business daily is a mirror reflecting the world the sort of an individual you are. “The character of an individual shines through his task.” Too many people are not giving their best on their jobs because they think the job is beneath them or the environment isn’t fun. Folks you can find satisfaction and fun on any job if you took it differently and changed your perception of the job. Continue reading How to Get Satisfaction and Fun on Your Job

Looking For Easy Success?

There is no royal road to success and prosperity in life. There are certain ordeals everyone faces as we pass through life, and the people who succeed are those who have learned to overcome those trials. I know sometimes we wish life were easier than it is now, and we prayed we had it like others or had wealthy family members who can make our lives easier, but depending too little on yourself and more on other people has been seen to ruin the lives of most people starting out in life.

The people who succeed in life are men and women who learned early on to depend on themselves. By relying on your efforts, you learn firsthand some of the most valuable life lessons that no amount of inherited or easy money can ever give to you, and which no person can ever take from you.

The only money that does a person right is what he earns himself. “A ready-made fortune, like ready-made clothes, seldom fits the man who comes into possession.” Nothing makes a man more economical than living on his account. Haven’t you seen that the most extravagant youths in our society are those who have Parents, or “Uncles,” who give them money frequently? But let those same individuals have no sources for money except what they earn, and they will immediately see more reasons for saving than for spending. Continue reading Looking For Easy Success?

Is Money All You Receive From Your Work? Pt.1

I went to the inner part of the city I live this past week, and there I saw something I haven’t seen in many, many years now; Men and youths gathering around to play board games, and argue of trifle matters and events.

As I stopped for a while to really try to analyse the situation in my head, I still couldn’t understand why people with so much abilities could be “idling” or “killing time” so early in the day. So when I met with the person I went to meet with in the area, I asked him, why are these able bodied people wasting their lives?

To that he responded; “you haven’t seen anything yet. There are no opportunities.”

Do you or someone you know think this way? That you don’t have opportunities or resources to prosper and have a great life in our economy today?

The truth you must know is, for anyone who has the ability, there is always opportunity available. Just as the fields wait for the plough, and the sea wait for the ships and boats, so does God stand ready to corporate with you in your labours, and to reward you according to your diligence and industry.

The statement, “There are no jobs, no opportunities, or nothing for me to do with my ability” is either an expression of vanity, an excuse for negligence, or a confession of lack of mental resource, or of inability to utilize opportunity.

There are numerous opportunities to prosper today. In fact so many people have proven that a downturn in the economy presents a big opportunity for those who have the ability to think and look beyond the obvious, and who also have the capacity for work. Do you find yourself in a situation where you are asking God why me?

Maybe you have lost your job, lost your marriage, desperately in need of cash, badly hurt from a failed relationship, your health is failing, or you seem to be going from one adversity to the other with no hope of a breakthrough.

Is that the case with you? Then it is you I am writing this message for.

You see in life adversity, setbacks, challenges, negative situations, can occur, and they do occur to everyone often without any advance warning, despite your preparation, careful planning, your faith and closeness to God.

If you are in that position, the question you will be asking is how do I come out of this situation? What do I do to get my life back on track? Can I still find love, get rich, become happy, get a job, rebuild my business, get my family back, regain my health…in spite of all what I have gone/going through? How Not to Make Money

talents

Why have we become so hypocritical on the subject of money? Most people (especially religious ones) have formed the habit of pretending publicly to despise or not be concerned about money, while actually they are working their heads off, taking double shifts, combining their jobs with side businesses, or running two, three enterprises, just to get more of it.

I read blogs, and listen to speeches where people advise others especially the young or those under them to shun the pursuit of money and seek the higher good, yet the very blog, and the speech they give is a money making opportunity for them.

The other day, I was with an older person who wanted a service from me, and after telling him my fees, he went ahead to say, “must it be all about the money?” I felt saddened by the hypocrisy of this man. Yes I believe that everything isn’t and shouldn’t be about the money, in fact I go out to genuinely help people, it is even one of the reasons why I don’t bill churches each time I am invited to give talks.

But folks, aren’t we all out to make money? Or is there anything bad about being paid for your services? In a developing nation like Nigeria where I live, the importance of having money is felt daily. As you will need to have a lot of money in order for you to be just comfortable.

There is nothing evil about money, what the bible warned against was the love of money; the extend which we go in getting the money. What we should be weary of is the price we are paying to get the money we so need. Continue reading How Not to Make Money

5 Secrets of Thomas Edison’s Success

Most of us know the story of Thomas Edison, his inventions and their relevance in our world today, several years after his death.

Did you know he arrived New York from Boston (USA) friendless, and heavily in debt due to his failed experiments in Boston? I stumbled on an old interview of his in which he shared the principles that caused him to succeed in life and business.

I have decided to share those principles with you, as they are still very true today as they were back then, and they help you immensely in your journey to success:

  1. Being broke and hungry is a blessing

When Thomas Edison was asked if he believed hunger, and lack can compel a person to achieve success, he said “It certainly makes him keep a sharp look out. I think it does push a man along.”

I totally agree with this statement. I too believe being broke and hungry is a blessing, as it pushes you to go the extra-mile to do anything legitimate to change your situation. (see The power of broke book by Daymond John)

So rather than complain about your present state, let it be the fire that you need to drive you to success.

  1. Be willing to put in long hours on your goals

How hard do you work on your dreams and goals? I find that most people lack the ability to spend enough time working on their dreams and goals. Folks working 8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm will only earn you a living in most cases. If you want to build your business and bringing huge success, you must be willing to work longer than 5pm.

Thomas Edison said, for 15 years he worked for 20 hours a day. Now while that may be going to the extreme, that was how much time he had to give in order to be who he is to us, and carved his name in the tablet of immortality. Continue reading 5 Secrets of Thomas Edison’s Success
