The treasure of life is in connections. Life is about relationships. One of the things that successful people have in common is a support group or network of people that are connected to them energetically, either by family – Parents, Brothers, Sisters, Uncles, Husbands, Wives or by fraternal or religious organizations. Some of us do not have these support systems – we either have families, friends, neighbours, or co-workers that laugh at us and who wouldn’t support our dreams. The love, the unconditional non-judgemental support that comes from getting involved in a group, church, club, or other organization does a lot of magic for us as humans.
Napoleon Hill in his classic; Think and grow rich, calls it the master mind alliance. A mastermind alliance involves two or more people who work in perfect harmony for the attainment of a definite purpose. Through a support network one may borrow and use the education, experience, influence, and the capital of other people, thereby enabling you to accomplish in one year more than you could accomplish without your support group in a lifetime. A support network can protect you against failure if your purpose is beneficial to all whom you influence. According to Hill Henry ford and Andrew Carnegie, who both made use of this principle, they surrounded themselves with men who supplied knowledge, which they did not, and probably never could possess. Moreover, they selected men who could, and did, harmonize in group effort.
Harmony seems to be one of nature’s laws, without which there cannot be any such thing as organized energy. Without harmony at the source of any form of organized energy or power, the units of that energy are thrown into a chaotic state of disorder and the power is rendered neutral or passive. Paul knew about how much can be done with a support group, and he charged the Christians thus in Hebrews 10:24-25: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching”.
A support group, gives us a strong foundation, it is like a fertile soil that allows our roots to grow deep down, and when the rains come, it does rain in our lives, when the sun is burning on us, this is inevitable, when people trample on us, this too surely happens in our lives, but because our roots are solid, we will withstand and prosper.
No individual has ever achieved success without the help and cooperation of others. So get involved in a group, in your faith groups, and other networks if you want success.
