Podcast Episode 18: Why Voluntarily Enslave Yourself?

Do you think someone has to approve of the things you do before you do them? Are you constantly trying to please others in your relationships, jobs, business even when you are hurting inside? Then you may be voluntarily enslaving yourself.

Too many people today are slaves to the thinking and actions of others. They strain themselves to do things simply because others do them, they let other people’s opinions define who they are and become.

If you find yourself in this situation, where you are in constant need of the validation of others, then you should immediately listen to this audio specially made for you, to break you free from the slavery you have voluntarily brought yourself into. It will inspire you to find your own voice or image in a world where people are drowning in the oceans of others opinion of them.

Feel free to share it with someone you know – you may be saving a life!

Whose Permission Do You Need To thrive?

It amazes how many people are not doing things based on the opinions of others. Too many of us are not pursuing our dreams because others have told us we couldn’t.

Often I have come to realize that these folks telling you you shouldn’t do this or that, because you can’t, or you are not qualified, are doing this based on fear, envy, their failure, and small size thinking.

If I asked for the opinion of others including my family, I won’t be married today, nor will I be doing what I am doing. Folks it’s not every one who loves you that mean well for you, not because they hate you, but because they don’t have your vision.

Everyone interprets life based on the size of their vision. if your vision is small, all you can see is the impossibilities; the many reasons, why can’t study a particular course, why you can’t get married, why you can’t start your own business, why you can’t leave a political party, why you can’t relocate etc.

You see, no one knows what is the best for you except God and you. Too many times I have seen people make the choice of marriage based on the thinking of their parents only to enter into it live in regret. I have seen people take up jobs they didn’t in because of what the society thinks. I have seen people run to drugs and alcohol to make them forget the mistake of the choices they made, based on the influences of others.

What’s Your Idea of Happiness?

The essence of life is to be happy, and everyone desires happiness but we seek for it and experience it in different ways. Some are happiest when they are noisiest; some think they are happiest when they are drunk, while others foolishly take drugs to reach their dizzy heights of joy which end in destroying their health! Some are happiest at their work, others at their play, while some discontented folks are never quite happy except in their dreams.

As you go about seeking for happiness your way, consider these contrasting opinions: The world’s view on happiness vs Christ’s view on happiness. Which way are you going to follow?:

The World Says,

Happy are the proud and the rich.

Happy are they who never know sorrow.

Happy are the ambitious pushers.

Happy are they who are not bothered by a conscience.

Happy are the absolute tyrants. Continue reading What’s Your Idea of Happiness?

Negative Opinion is Poison

The journey towards success, or a better life is laced with many obstacles and challenges, but the one that stops many of us, is that conviction that our dreams and goals are beyond our reach. Many of us have been sold this lie. We have allowed the many suppressive and negative forces to direct our thoughts and aims toward mediocrity.

In the beginning of our lives it wasn’t always so. God created us with a charge to have dominion over all things. The scripture says we are called to be the head and not the tail. As children we all had great dreams and goals. Visit any primary school today, or talk to any young boy or girl, you will be surprised that they have plans to conquer the world, to attain important positions in life, to become famous and wealthy, to be Olympic champions and so on.

But when they become teens and young adults, the negative suppressive forces that stopped their parents begin to work on them, sometimes it is their own parents and older relatives who failed to act on their own lives that set out to lead these young lads into mediocrity.

They begin to tell them, it is foolish to be a dreamer, that their ideas are impractical, unachievable, stupid, naïve, foolish, doesn’t suit the times and the economy, or that they would need a terrible amount of money to go anywhere in life, or that “luck determines who gets ahead or you’ve got to have important friends,” or you’re “too old or too young.” Continue reading Negative Opinion is Poison

Be Ignorant of Your Limitations

“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you.”    –Matthew 17:20

Do you have an idea, a dream, a goal, and you have been told it is impossible? Have you been told your marriage isn’t going to work out; you are never going to make it in life; you will never achieve that success you desire; your child is never going to be straightened up or whatever else? I have come to discover that in this life we have too many people who are experts in giving advice on how we cannot do or achieve something. They write you off before they even get to know your capabilities. People judge you by their own failure and inadequacies.

If you have a dream or a goal, forget about the so called good opinions of others, and concentrate on yourself and your abilities. Many great success stories have proven to us that there is nothing that is impossible. And Christ Himself said you can achieve anything if you have faith, Continue reading Be Ignorant of Your Limitations

Do Small Things In A Great Way

Some of us our notion of greatness is that the only individuals who qualify as great men and women are the big stars, the heads of nations and corporations, people who oversee large congregations, top motivational speakers and bestselling authors who speak before sold out crowds. Yes these are great people, but you don’t have to be big to be great.

Right where you are, there are truly great individuals who are unknown to the world, but they are great. Greatness isn’t defined by the number of followership you have, or by the crowds you talk to or lead. Every one of us can be great just by living our small lives in a great way.

The story of creation in the Bible tells us that God made two lights: the greater lights and the lesser light. The greater light being the Sun, while the lesser light is the Moon and the Stars. You see, “not all of us will be the sun; not all of us will be the moon. Some will be the sun. Some will be the moon. Some will even be the stars. But we must remember that it was God who set each in its place, to serve its specific function.” – Mensa Otabil

Do not wait for the world stage, the big opportunity, the large followers, before you live a great life. You can start being great right where you are today in your home, in your office, in your school, on the street, everywhere. You can begin to make yourself known as great, by doing everything you do in a great way. The Bible says tells us that whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your heart as unto the Lord not unto men.

Folks put all of your being into what you do no matter how small or commonplace it is. Let your light so shine; reveal it to your family, your friends, neighbours and every one that comes in contact with you. Show the world your greatness by living your everyday life in a great way. Be so just, so generous, so courteous, and kind that your family, your husband, your wife, your children, brothers, sisters, colleagues, and friends would know just how great you are. Greatness starts within.

Live your greatest life!
