Looking For Easy Success?

There is no royal road to success and prosperity in life. There are certain ordeals everyone faces as we pass through life, and the people who succeed are those who have learned to overcome those trials. I know sometimes we wish life were easier than it is now, and we prayed we had it like others or had wealthy family members who can make our lives easier, but depending too little on yourself and more on other people has been seen to ruin the lives of most people starting out in life.

The people who succeed in life are men and women who learned early on to depend on themselves. By relying on your efforts, you learn firsthand some of the most valuable life lessons that no amount of inherited or easy money can ever give to you, and which no person can ever take from you.

The only money that does a person right is what he earns himself. “A ready-made fortune, like ready-made clothes, seldom fits the man who comes into possession.” Nothing makes a man more economical than living on his account. Haven’t you seen that the most extravagant youths in our society are those who have Parents, or “Uncles,” who give them money frequently? But let those same individuals have no sources for money except what they earn, and they will immediately see more reasons for saving than for spending. Continue reading Looking For Easy Success?

The Price for Success

Each one of us is driven to a certain extent by fear. Even the most courageous among us have some fear in them —fear to rise, fear to fall, fear that we will remain in the same place. So many of us think that we want to be rich, that we want to be famous, that we want to accomplish great deeds, but often these feelings are just idle talk and mere wishes.

Most of the things we think we want come at the price of leaving behind our familiar life and venturing into the unknown. Every time we accomplish something and move ahead, we have to exchange the known conditions of our life for uncertainty and unfamiliarity.

Even though most people think they are trying to succeed, they are simply going through the motions. The last thing in the world that they want is to get off the familiar treadmill and actually get somewhere.

Before we can succeed, we must clearly understand that success means change and the risk of failure. Continue reading The Price for Success

How Our Beliefs Shape Us

I read about an experiment where researchers placed a large fish in the middle of an aquarium with minnows to feed on. The fish fed to its delight. Then the researchers decided to place a glass partition in the aquarium, dividing it in two. After the fish had eaten all of the minnows on his side of the partition, it could see the other minnows through the glass but it couldn’t get to them. It thrashed, bumped, and bashed its body against the glass partition, but to no avail. Since it couldn’t get to them, it formed the belief that it was impossible for it to get those minnows. It gave up and stopped trying.

Then the researchers removed the glass partition and allowed the minnows to swim all around it. It could see them and feel them but since it believed those minnows were no longer available to him, that they were forever locked away from its reach.  It starved to death in the middle of an aquarium full of food.

Everywhere you look, people are starving to death in the middle of aquarium teeming with food.Everywhere you look, people are blinded to the prosperity that surrounds them, deaf to the sound of opportunity knocking on their own front door, insensitive to the intuitive feelings that flood their entire being.

Some say they have been chained by circumstances; a lack of good education, poor parentage, etc.  But really, you are held back not by these things but by your beliefs. You see, it has been proven by so many authorities in science, religion, psychology, even by others who have succeeded, that you can improve your outer condition if you improve your inner life. Why Go On?

Life is filled with troubles. Today, in all parts of the world, almost everyone is touched by one sort of challenge, difficulty, tragedy, or the other. Sometimes, these challenges are so severe that some of us feel utterly hopeless about life, we see no light at the end of the tunnel, and ask ourselves – Why go on in life?

If this is the case with you right now, I want you to know there is hope, just as the Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:8;  “We are hard-pressed in every way, but not cramped beyond movement; we are perplexed, but not absolutely with no way out.” You see, I believe that no matter how distressing or difficult your situation is right now, it can change for the better. Even if you’re your situation seem permanent, or irreversible, for example; suppose you have a terminal illness, or you have lost a loved one – even in these conditions, you can still change your outlook and attitude towards your situation. Why You Should Endure…

“For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” – Hebrews 10:36

A truly great individual is one who has endured, persevered, the opposition, criticism, challenges, persecution, and risen above them all. Greatness comes after enduring the pains and trials, and suffering all the insufferable. “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” – James 1: 12.

Everyone knows how to thrive in the good times. But it is the trying times, the hardships, the dark times that separate the one who will succeed and the one who wouldn’t. The most decorated soldiers are the ones who have gone to war and survived fierce and difficult battles and operations. If you want to live your greatest life, you have to endure the trials and tribulations, knowing that in them is the key for your breakthrough.

Have the faith to endure the humiliation of defeat and criticism, to rise above it and dare to do what is right in fulfilling your destiny. Or as Abraham Lincoln said, “Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it.”

“Our negative life situations are essential elements for us to fulfil our intended destiny. However, unless we possess the power of endurance to live through the dark of the night, we will not see the glory of daybreak.” All great people have endured…so endure to be great.
