Daily Wisdom: Be a Wise Optimist

There are two kinds of optimists, “wise” and “otherwise”, which one are you? The wise optimist not only believes that things will work, but he works diligently to make them so. Unfortunately, many of us fall in the “otherwise” category; we do believe things will work out for us, but on their own since we don’t usually take the steps to match our thoughts with the needed actions.

Today, strive to be the wise optimist. Always believe that all things will work together for you; that the world will favour your actions. And whatever you set out to do, you will prosper. And while you believe and speak these things, make sure you are taking the steps in line with your thoughts. And remember, the disposition of the optimist to look for only the good in life gives him increased advantage in finding what he looks for.

Anything is Possible to The Believer

I know a lot of people that had one dream or the other – in fact they still have them, but they do nothing about their dreams and goals. Most of them are too scared of public opinion to dare act on them. Friends, great ideas are always laughed at, rejected, and opposed in the beginning. Most of the originators of the ideas were considered foolish, and some were even referred to mental health institutions for rehabilitation.

Many of the things that you use today; even the things you are being taught about in schools today, were at one time the radical ideas of individuals who had the courage to believe what their own hearts and minds told them was true, rather than accept the common beliefs of their day. Who would have thought that coloured water will be a multi-billion dollar industry today – pioneered by Coca Cola? Imagine 25 years ago, that water freely given by God, will be packaged in bottles and transformed into a billion dollar industry? Continue reading Anything is Possible to The Believer

It Shall Pass

There is a particular phrase in the bible I like so much. It is, “It came to pass.” Many bible parables and key activities begin with that phrase. It signifies a fulfilment of a certain prophecy or an end of an era. But to me it shows me that there is always an end to any situation one is experiencing.

Life is full of problems, sometimes it’s as if all we get from life is difficulty, challenges, sicknesses, and one form of pain or the other. But the good news is nothing lasts forever. That problem you are encountering has a life span. “Every mountain has a peak.  Every valley has its low point.  Life has its ups and downs, its peaks and its valleys.  No one is up all the time, nor are they down all the time.  Problems do end.  They do go away.  They are all resolved in time.” – Robert Schuller.

Friends it doesn’t matter how long you’ve had your challenge; whether it’s 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years…6 years or for as long as you remember. It will pass one day. All we need is to hold on in faith that nothing last forever on this earth, and that that problem too shall come to pass. Remember after every storm is sunshine, after the winter is spring. Great things are going to show up in your life once again if you hold on. Continue reading It Shall Pass

Nothing Is Too Good For You

There are some of us who believe that there are plenty of good things in this world for other people. Others are good enough to have comfort, luxuries, good clothes, good homes, good relationships, opportunities for travel and leisure but never for us! We are so convinced that these things cannot come to us because of our low status, background, parentage or class. We forget that God did not make any individual or race superior to the other. The bible says we are made in His image and likeness. There are no higher, lower, superior or inferior classes of people in His eyes.

You see yourself in a different class because you think yourself into that class. Whatever limits you may have were placed on you by your thoughts, not by God. There are no limits with God; He is the All powerful, with nothing Impossible for Him. And He wants you to prosper and have all the good things of the earth. So if you do not have it, it is because you limit yourself.

Folks, “God’s children were not made to grovel but to aspire; to look up, not down. They were not made to pinch along in poverty but for larger, grander things. Nothing is too good for the children of the Prince of Peace, nothing too beautiful for human beings, nothing too grand, too sublime, too magnificent for us to enjoy… If we had larger and grander conceptions of life, of our birthright; if instead of whining, crawling, grumbling, sneaking and apologising, we were to stand erect and claim our kingship, demand our inheritance, the inheritance which is an abundance of all that is good and beautiful and true, we should live far completer, fuller lives.” – Orison S. Marden

Begin to expect great, grand things in your life because proverbs 23:18 promises; “…and thine expectation shall not be cut off.”
