Guard Your Heart

The bible commands that we guard our heart with utmost care because it is in there that all our thoughts are formed. In today’s world where we are being daily bombarded with unsolicited negative information, we need to be careful what we let into our hearts. All the information we receive are seeds that are being planted in our minds, and like all seeds they must produce fruits after their kind.

The life you are living now is the product of the kind of seeds (information) that has been planted in you over time. Just like it’s said our character is the sum of our actions, and our actions are the result of our thoughts. Therefore as you think in your heart, and as you dwell on certain kinds of thoughts in your daily life, you begin to manifest those thoughts in your reality.

What thoughts have you been thinking lately? Do you always think thoughts of misery, failure, defeat, discouragement and poverty? Or do you always think thoughts of power, success, good health, love, happiness and long life? Whatever it is you are thinking, you don’t need to see a shrink for your results as your life is already manifesting your thoughts. Continue reading Guard Your Heart

Tired of Doing Good?

Tired of doing good and not being appreciated? I have had people tell me they don’t think they will help people anymore, because in spite of the good they do people don’t appreciate them, all they receive in return is criticism, “no thank yous” and so on.

While it is hurting to do good and not feel appreciated, it shouldn’t stop us from continuing our good works. The world may not see it and recognize it, but God sees everything and rewards everything. Do you want to stop doing good because it seems no one ever does same to you? Friends keep up is all I can say to you.

In the gospel of Mark, we find the parable of the Sower shared by Christ. Christ shared a story of a farmer that when to sow seeds, while he was casting his seeds, some fell by the road side and birds picked them up, some fell on rocky grounds, and when they grew they were over exposed to sun heat and the little plants died, others fell among thorns, and the thorns choked them so even though they grew, they couldn’t bear seeds. But the farmer being not discouraged, kept planting and finally some seeds fell on good grounds, these seeds germinated, grew and bore fruits, and he had a good harvest. What You Plant is What You Will Harvest

“Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

A lot of us do not pay attention to the laws governing the earth. I guess the only law many of us care to know is the law of gravity, probably because we were taught that in school. But there are many other laws in operation, with as much effect as that of Gravitational pull.

One of such laws is the law of “Cause and Effect” or as the bible calls it, “Seedtime and Harvest.” Yes – and before your mind starts wondering, this isn’t a preaching on money and giving, because many of us have come to associate “sowing seeds and harvesting” to mean parting with our money.

Friends the law of cause and effect is an unfailing boomerang. And like all laws it takes effect whether you are aware of its existence or not.  It is applied in the same measure to the rich and to the poor, the lord and the subjects, everybody eats from the same bowl.

Every day I see and meet people who expect love from others but they don’t give love to others nor themselves; people expect honesty from others but they themselves are not honest; people complain about their spouse unfaithfulness to them in their marriage, but they weren’t faithful in their relationships.
