This Year Will Become What You Make of It

Today it has become so natural for us to blame our mistakes and failures, ill health, unfavourable circumstances and conditions, our unhappiness and our disappointments in all the walks of life on “fate!” How prone we are to attribute our ills and failures to some external factor or cause, when the real cause lies within ourselves!

This is simply because we have become so used to thinking that the causes which control and shape our lives are external and such as can be measured by the physical senses. We have become so used to considering everything from a material standpoint—perceiving only that which can be weighed in the balance of human intelligence or measured with scales and metre rule that we have actually grown into the belief that the things which govern our lives and control our destiny are external.

We have been conditioned to live a material life, and have become grossly in materialism, that we have lost sight almost entirely of the higher, spiritual and more potential forces by and through which our lives and our destinies are controlled.

In this new year, too many people still believe in fate and horoscopes. They believe that what will be, will be and they don’t have control over how the year will turn out to be. Folks from my standpoint, there is no such thing as “fate” and nothing ever “happens.” Scientists, psychologists, and even the Bible show that to a greater extent, the cause of whatever comes to any person lies within the person. You Become What You Think About

Most of us are always thinking about the things we don’t want and that is why we have more of them in our lives. Remember you become what you think about most of the time. Stop thinking about the things you don’t want and start thinking about the things you desire.

Stop thinking about poverty, lack, hard times, bad luck, panic, disease, death and lack of love. Think and talk more about plenty, health, life, opportunity, confidence, happiness, love, progress, achievement, good luck and righteousness. “Our thoughts help to make the world what it is.” Right thinking is our greatest power for change.

Begin today to focus your thoughts on all the positive things you desire and they will start manifesting in your life. Live your greatest life!

Don’t Let Your Eyes Limit Your Vision

“Most people take the limits of their vision to be the limits of the world.” Are you among those people? How do you regard your future and the world? Do you let your past, fears, limitations and challenges determine how you plan for your future.

No matter what or where you’ve been, and how you are now, you can still be great. Your future is colourful and bright, all you need do is start changing the way you view the world. There is so much more to be achieved, the world is filled with possibilities. We just don’t see it, because we have been view the world with limited vision.

Do you want to experience a better future? Change your thinking. It’s been said and it is true, that your thinking creates your reality. All the people who are doing great things today, have been big thinkers, as our lives reflect the size of our thinking. Don’t let your circumstances determine what you think and dream about your life. Even God says all things are possible to the person that believes, irrespective of where they were born, which school they attended, how much money they have. “Bodily Exercise and Food Gives Little Profits”

Many of us are very picky and particular about what food we eat. These days there have been so much consciousness on healthy diets. This is so because we know that our bodies reflect the diet fed them. Physical stamina, resistance to disease, body size, even how long we live are all closely related to what we eat.

While many of us have almost perfected the art of healthy dieting, we have failed to also realize that our minds also reflect the kind of “mind food” we feed them. We may have very healthy physical bodies, but we feed our minds with unhealthy junk meals. – Through the information, habits, and attitudes we pick from our environments.

Our environment shapes us, makes us think, talk, or walk the way we do. You are where you are in life largely because of well fed or how malnourished your mind is. Its time to become as conscious about what you feed your minds, as we are about what we feed our bodies, because the size of your thinking, your goals, your attitudes, your personality are all a reflection of your state of mind. Self-consciousness a Killer of Dreams

“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity but one or power, love, and self-discipline.”

We all of have lofty dreams, vision, plans, desires, of doing great things with our lives, but so many of us are held back from undertaking what we long to do, and are stuck where we are, unable to make our dreams come true because we are shy of facing people, or we are too sensitive of what others may say about us, or we think we are not good enough.  Thus our lofty plans exist only in our minds.

Self- consciousness and timidity are great enemies of success. A lot of men and women have missed great opportunities in life because of these two.  So many potential award winning singers and artists have died without the world benefiting from their talents because of timidity and self-consciousness. They had great dreams and talents, but they never trusted their dreams to the real world of action, because they were afraid of failure, and of how people will react to them.

“A sensitive person feels that, whatever he does, wherever he goes, or whatever he says, he is the centre of observation. He imagines that people are criticizing his movements, making fun at his expense, or analyzing his character, when they are probably not thinking of him at all.  He does not realize that other people are too busy and too much interested in themselves and other things to devote to him any of their time beyond what is absolutely necessary.”

Self-consciousness leads to mediocrity because no one ever does anything, until he or she feels that they are a part of something greater than themselves. Folks, self-consciousness isn’t humility. If you think always hiding in the crowd and not giving your life an expression is a show of humility, you are wrong. “Humility isn’t does not require mediocrity.” By insisting that you are just this or that, or that you will never amount to anything much, in the name of humility you talk yourself down to a state of non-accomplishment Continue reading Self-consciousness a Killer of Dreams
