You Do An Important Work!

What is the most important reward you get for the work you do? Is the money, the fame, the spotlight, the huge following? As for me, while the money I get helps me keep doing living my mission and meeting my personal needs. The ultimate reward I get is the joy I derive in serving others; in being able to put a smile on someone’s face, in being able to inspire another soul to reach for their greatness through my videos, my books, my podcasts or this blog.

We are all called to do different things for God folks. You see not all of us can follow the path that leads like the Indian’s trail from mountain peak to mountain peak. Many of us walk through lowlands, unseen, and unheard of. Not many of us will have the huge followers, and grace the front pages of leading magazines, but maybe it will only be our families and communities that recognize the work we do. But folks, whatever you have been called to do, just keep doing it faithfully because we are all working for the Master.

While you may not be honoured and appreciated for the work you do, while you may be constantly criticised, and bashed by internet trolls, and other people who don’t understand your part, if you stay faithful to God and the work you do, you will have an unseen Friend in God always beside you. Is Money All You Receive From Your Work? Pt.1

I went to the inner part of the city I live this past week, and there I saw something I haven’t seen in many, many years now; Men and youths gathering around to play board games, and argue of trifle matters and events.

As I stopped for a while to really try to analyse the situation in my head, I still couldn’t understand why people with so much abilities could be “idling” or “killing time” so early in the day. So when I met with the person I went to meet with in the area, I asked him, why are these able bodied people wasting their lives?

To that he responded; “you haven’t seen anything yet. There are no opportunities.”

Do you or someone you know think this way? That you don’t have opportunities or resources to prosper and have a great life in our economy today?

The truth you must know is, for anyone who has the ability, there is always opportunity available. Just as the fields wait for the plough, and the sea wait for the ships and boats, so does God stand ready to corporate with you in your labours, and to reward you according to your diligence and industry.

The statement, “There are no jobs, no opportunities, or nothing for me to do with my ability” is either an expression of vanity, an excuse for negligence, or a confession of lack of mental resource, or of inability to utilize opportunity.

There are numerous opportunities to prosper today. In fact so many people have proven that a downturn in the economy presents a big opportunity for those who have the ability to think and look beyond the obvious, and who also have the capacity for work. Called to Be Faithful

Are you waiting on God to do your work for you? Look God is waiting for you to start. Even God cannot do our work without us, without our skills, our faithfulness. Every one of us has been called to do our work faithfully no matter what it is.

Unfortunately today, most people are neglecting their callings/work/skills/talents/business because they think it is too small for them. Look no matter what you are doing, God has called you to that work; whether you are a carpenter, mechanic, hair stylist, driver, care giver, writer, blogger, speaker etc. you are required to be the best you can be at what you do. God expects you to do the very best work you can possibly do in your line of work.

So whenever you do careless, dishonest, imperfect, slighted work, you are robbing God. The bible says, whatever work you do, you should do it as you are doing it unto God and not unto man. How faithful are you to the work you are doing now? Faithfulness requires that you do the best you can always in everything we do. Continue reading Called to Be Faithful

Never Be Idle

There are some tasks in every life that are boring or stressful. Some of the young people who drop out school say they find their courses to be dull and uneventful. There are mothers and wives who some days grow tired of the endless chores they have to do for the house. There are some people who have grown tired of the routine of their offices and jobs.

There are some times in our lives when most of us feel that the jobs/assignments that we get to do daily are not worthy of us, they are way below us. But we just do them because we have to survive. These feelings often comes when you have had a taste of better opportunities, earned more money had a glimpse of what success means but you lost it.

May be the reason why you are in the low position you are now is because you lost your job. It may be the death of a benefactor that cut off your income, or a reverse in your business earnings that swept away your fortune, or some sickness that came on you or your loved one has taken up all your savings and now you have to toil and labour and live under very humble conditions.

Or maybe it isn’t any of these but something else that has drastically affected your circumstances, that you find yourself always asking; “How can I go on with this kind of life, how do I endure these difficulties, these going from hand to mouth and always plodding by after having had it so easy for me and having enjoyed the good side of life?” Continue reading Never Be Idle

What are You Living For? What are You Working For?

Each time I tell someone I left my paid job to help others succeed in spite of their setbacks, and help young people find meaning in their lives, I get this look on their faces that says “you are crazy” and some of them actually voice it out and ask me what I was thinking, and how will what I am doing pay me. In fact a journalist who was interviewing me had to ask me if this mission of mine actually puts food on my table.

In a country like mine where there are very few jobs; and where working in the sector where I was is a dream of almost half  of our population, people think those of us who dare quit are stupid, and wasted the slots of others. When we talk of work the first thing that enters people’s mind is how much money will come to me at the end of the end? Nobody ever wants to work for free, or do some form of humanitarian service today. Even most of the non-profits around here are in just because of the money coming in from donors and foreign aids. “It’s really about the Benjamin” here.

Money is good, in fact I need lots of money for my voice to heard and my message to reach the young people who really need to hear my story. But I don’t live for nor work for money, instead I live for a great purpose, and every day I hold central idea of my purpose constantly in my mind, so that I am always reminded why I am alive; especially in the days when things seem to be going against me and the pressures and struggles appear so real. Enough of Just Hoping

Life is a challenge, a struggle, a push, to be the best you can be, to make the most of your life. But in that struggle, push, or challenge is the value of life. Those who don’t push, don’t succeed. Those who sit by and whine and complain always remain that way.

A lot of us are hoping and wishing for a good life. We believe God is going to take care of our future for us, that everything is going to turn out just fine in the end. Sure I believe in miracles and I know that God has good plans for us. But those plans won’t come to pass without us playing our own roles.

You can’t sit around and expect things to work out without you doing anything. Stop hoping without taking action. Stop wishing without doing. Let me tell you the truth, your life isn’t going to change, if anything it is going to change for worse if you don’t get up and start acting on it. Continue reading Enough of Just Hoping

You Can Serve God in Small Way Too

Many people these days are looking for big opportunities to serve. Everyone wants to appear in a big stage; speakers and preachers want to speak before crowds of thousands. Only very few people are willing to express their gifts or serve God in a small capacity. It’s especially painful when “Men of God” do this, when they feel too big and important to preach or teach in a small church or event, they are always looking for the packed halls and stadia.

Thank God our God isn’t a respecter of persons, so He doesn’t rate you by the number of social media followers you have, or by the size of the crowds you’ve stood before. It is only man thst is obsessed with “scale” “rating” “size” “status” “followers”. Our God is too great a God to need your great deeds. As long as we are using our gifts/talents to work for Him where we find ourselves it really doesn’t make any difference whether we do our work in a remote village, attending to people who wouldn’t be able to repay our sacrifices or we are serving thousands of people daily.

Folks the little things you do that a lot of people leave undone, the small services you render that are despised by the big crowd loving guys are great enough to glorify God as long as you are doing them for God.
