“You Reap What You Sow”

The whole of this life is run by choices, the choices we make every single second, minute, hour, day. And what you choose to give life will determine what life will give you in return tomorrow. Just like the Bible says; “Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others – ignoring God! – harvests a crop of weeds. All he will have to show for his life is weeds! But the person who plants in response to God, letting God’s spirit to do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life. – Galatians 6:7-8.

Your choices today, determines the kind of life you will lead tomorrow. As tomorrow is the consequence of your actions and inactions today. This is explained by Zig Ziglar; “You can choose to get drunk tonight, but when you do, you have chosen to feel miserable tomorrow. You can choose to light a cigarette today, but when you do, you have chosen to die fourteen minutes early. You can choose to eat properly today, and when you do, you have chosen to be healthier tomorrow. You can choose to be overweight, or you can choose to be the right weight. You can choose to be happy or you can choose to be sad. When we choose to be mean and nasty to other people, we have chosen to be treated in a mean and nasty fashion by others. By the same token, when we choose to be thoughtful and considerate to others, we have chosen to be treated in a thoughtful and considerate manner.”

Every farmer knows that when you plant a tomato seed, you will harvest tomato fruits. You cannot plant a tomato seed and expect to harvest apple fruits. When we understand this principle, we would be careful of the choices we make. Whatever experiences we are facing at the moment were created by our choices. Most of us did so without knowing what we were doing.

Set yourself up for success and greatness tomorrow. Read books, blog posts, articles that inspire, listen to audios, and speak and think good things every day! You create your own happiness, and it starts with the choices you make, “with what you input on a regular basis.”

Remember, “You are free to choose, but the choices you make today will determine what you will have, be, and do in the tomorrows of your life.” – Zig Ziglar.

  1. Good morning! Love this post! I’ve been attempting to say this very thing to some folks I know. I liked it on my Facebook page and urged them to read it. I hope they do! Thanks!

  2. This is awesome! I just read something along the same lines of ‘saying yes to something automatically says no to something else’… just find out what we are saying ‘yes’ too! Good one!

  3. Hi, Vincent. This topic hit a homerun! There are so many individual who take this topic lightly. We must all be careful of what we do and what we say…..things have a very funny way of coming back.

  4. We needed this right now. We’re just starting to get disciplined about our finances after 16years of marriage and were about to fall off the wagon and order out for food. Not a huge expense but something we promised we wouldn’t do. I often fail to recognize the importance of these small daily decisions. Thanks for your post. Right on time.
