Think about This

This message was sent to me by a friend. I am sharing because it has some very powerful truths in it;

“Many of you are looking for the magic pill that will make all your dreams and wishes come true. Consider this powerful quote: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” by Marianne Williamson

Today’s Quote

Many people make the mistake of expecting others to treat them in a more loving and respectful way than they treat themselves. If you don’t love yourself, stop expecting others to. If you don’t respect yourself, stop expecting others to. If you don’t forgive yourself, stop expecting others to. If you don’t keep promises to yourself, stop expecting others to. If you are not being faithful to your dreams, your goals, and your resolutions, stop expecting others to. – Dr. Steve Maraboli

God Can!

Many times we set out on a mission, having everything well thought out, only to encounter defeat or serious setbacks along the way, that leave many of crashing and some of us even lament about how God has failed us. We forget that even when all things fail, God never fails and His word is true. Folks when things don’t  go our way, or when our dreams and desires do not go the way we envisaged, as is often the case in this life, we shouldn’t wear the defeatist mentality and begin to cry about as the world does, rather we should hold firm to the word of God.

Remember the scriptures tell us that all things (including what you are facing right now) happen for good to them that love God. As long as we have committed our plans and the outcome to the hands of God, we should trust that everything works out in the right way, and in the most wonderful way with God.

Maybe we are in a situation where we don’t and cannot see any miracle happening. But one thing I know for sure is this; There is never a limit to what God can do – and seeks to do in our lives. We may feel small, weak, or incapacitated; but our God can do all things, because He is the Almighty God. Our circumstances, conditions and obstacles may seem too much for our present strength; but God can. Continue reading God Can!

You Are Not Your Past!

Have you been judged? I get judged every day. Even in the bible, we see that Christ was judged, Apostle Paul was judged and distrusted because of his past life of being a persecutor of the church. You see its really amazing how people cannot see you and accept you for who you are now, because they want to keep you in the past. For some of us even our family members judge us, they dismiss our advice, and solutions, because they keep seeing us as that little lad that was crying or playing around in the yard some years back, and so shouldn’t be taken seriously.

When I started out writing and being on this mission, I faced a lot of mockery, and negativity from people who knew me from way back. They can’t believe I have something to offer…the same thing they did with Christ, His people didn’t believe in His ministry, all they saw when they looked at Him was, that He was a Carpenter’s son whom they knew. They never knew God had recommended and empowered Him. The same thing with St. Paul, they just looked at his past.

There are some of us who even judge ourselves and write ourselves off before the world does, because of our past. We just can’t believe anything good can come out of us. We look at our lives, and all we can see is the mistakes, the drugs we’ve used, the years we have lost and so on. Folks when we are still looking at ourselves through our past, we are not seeing what God has done, or what He can do. We are not seeing the many small changes that happen in our lives for good. You Too Can Sleep in a Storm!

A man seeks employment on a farm. He hands his letter of recommendation to his new employer. It reads simply, ‘He sleeps in a storm.’ The owner is desperate for help, so he hires the man. Several weeks pass, and suddenly, in the middle of the night, a powerful storm rips through the valley.

Awakened by the swirling rain and howling wind, the owner leaps out of bed. He calls for his new hired hand, but the man is sleeping soundly.

So he dashes off to the barn. He sees, to his amazement, that the animals are secure with plenty of feed. He runs out to the field. He sees the bales of wheat have been bound and are wrapped in tarpaulins. He races to the silo. The doors are latched, and the grain is dry. And then he understands. ‘He sleeps in a storm.’

My friends, if we tend to the things that are important in life, if we are right with those we love and behave in line with our faith, our lives will not be cursed with the aching throb of unfulfilled business. Our words will always be sincere, our embraces will be tight Continue reading You Too Can Sleep in a Storm!

Learn To Dance In The Rain

Learn To Dance In The Rain

Life is about the imperfections, it’s about the messy days and dealing with tough situations. It’s not always about being happy, it’s about overcoming obstacles. Some of the most beautiful people are the ones who have seen disappointment and faced struggle and never gave up. Our whole lives we are constantly dancing between the lines of positive and negative situations. It is inevitable that we will come across both. It isn’t hard to deal with happiness and good things; it’s how you bounce back once you have been knocked down. One of my favorite quotes is by Mike Tyson and it goes “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.” That quote could not be truer. Be ready for anything and make sure to always deal with things as they come. The people with the most success in life weren’t always dealt the best cards; they just…

Have you ever found yourself saying these words: “I hope I get that promotion at work,” and it does not happen. Or: “I hope it does not rain today,” but it rains. Or perhaps “Tennessee will win this week,” and they do. Well, I am in the process of having a Bible Study published and I look expectantly for the mail man every day thinking maybe today is the day I will get that proof copy, only to find myself disappointed once again because it did not come. We have all been disappointed when hoping for something. The hope we place on earthly things is a “maybe”, not a certainty.

As  believers, our hope is completely different. The hope that we have is in a Person, not in a circumstance.  Our hope is in God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit of promise. The Biblical…
